"Then I'll do it," said Yardena. --3--As they approached Julian's house, Yardena saw the flagstone path around the side where she knew the storm-cellar door must be, but Julian went boldly up the front stairs and walked in the front door. "MOM!" he shouted, "I'm home." "Hello," Megan sang. "I'm in here, dear." Julian hooked his book satchel around the newel post at the foot of the stairs and threw his coat in a heap on a bench beside it. He turned to take Yardena's satchel from her and slopped it on the bench, her coat following and falling to the floor.
