I hang up the call with the annoying Emmanuel, and when I return to where the others are, they're already talking about something else. I approach Rubi, who is sitting alone on a sofa, and sit in front of her. Mr. Peña has retreated to his study, and my mother is chatting with Mrs. Amelia and Vana a little distance away. I don't know what the lady is showing her, but my mother is gazing in awe at some drawings.
"Are you bored?" I ask the girl with dark hair, and she just shrugs. "I'm going to a bar in a little while. Maybe you'd like to join me. The last time we were together, we were supposed to have a great time... Maybe today we'll have better luck and have a good night." I'm really curious about her reactions, so I watch her carefully.
