Chapter 4

I curled my self tighter in bed, trying to understand why he would even say hi. When he rejecting our mate bond? Was I wrong? Is he not my mate? I just want to go home, live without a mate, I could live with that.

There was a knock on my door, "No!" I shouted and snuggled deeper, hoping that they'd leave me alone, I was in no mood to join a bunch of lovey dovey mated couples. This ball was a scam to get people to have babies. The whole idea of mates is stupid. Werewolves are stupid. I hate this!!

God, I'm turning hormonal.

"Come on Thea, open up, "James said .

"I don't wanna! "I replied like a little girl.

There was a click and he walked in waving a white plastic card,"Well you gotta."

I threw my blankets off me and frowned, "Out!"

He didn't move,"What got you panties up in a twist."

"Whose panties did you get up into? "I retorted.

"Bitch."

"Jackass."

"I love you too."

"Idiot." I said,"But I love you too."

"What's wrong, honey bun? Who's ass do I need to kick?"

I looked at him skeptically, "Seriously whose panties did you get into?" I said in a serious tone.

James was rarely positive, but this, was witchcraft, weed, or the afterglow of s*x , "Your Luna's." He said with a wide smile.

"Oh my god, who is she?"

"Her name is-"

"Jamie?" Calypso asked as she walked in through my open door wearing his shirt and some booty shorts while her long blue hair in a mess.

My eyes widen,"Holy s**t!"

"What is it Cali ?"James said, ignoring my sudden anxiety attack completely so he could creased her cheek.

"Hello, anyone listening?" I asked sarcastically.

"You weren't there when I woke up ." Calypso pouted.

"Uh, James her name is Calypso Shade. S-h-a-d-e, Shade, ring a bell?"I asked .

James kissed her forehead, "Sorry Baby, I'll make it up to you tonight. "

"Gods, if no one is listening then at get another hotel room!!"

James looked up,"I'm sorry Thea, what was that?"

I facepalmed myself, "James Matthews, meet your mate Calypso Shade, as in Alpha Shade, Shadow Wolf."

Calypso tensed and a voice called,"Calypso?"

Speaking of the devil.

"Shade ! "Calypso squeaked as he appeared by my doorway. He wore a pair of jeans with a jacket over a white shirt, and God why is he so attractive.

"CALYPSO -??Who the hell is he?" He said as he saw the arms James had around Calypso.

I rose an eyebrow, "Ohhh someone's in trouble." I said under my breath.

Shadow's eyes snapped to meet mine and I shut my trap,"Calypso, who is he?" Shadow asked again .

Cali looked down,"He... he is my mate." She said in a small voice.

"And. . ."

She looked up with glassy eyes,"And I mated him before the Acceptance."

I got up as my friend began crying, "What Acceptance? "I asked as Calypso ripped out of James hold and ran out , "What Acceptance?!!"I asked again as I got closer to Shadow.

"Old Laws, Thea. Old Laws that state that a female of a high rank can't mate before the packs acceptance of the mate. If they do mate, they are disowned," James said through his teeth.

"Are you-?" I balled my fits,"That's just downright stupid." I begin to walk out to find Calypso.

"Thea!" James scolded.

I ignored him and shoulder bumped Shadow as I walked, earning a growl from him, "Where do you think you're going?" He asked as he took my arm, automatically sending a current of blissful shocks through my skin.

"Ah, s**t! It is you."I groaned and ripped out of his hold and ran as I felt my eyes pricking from tears,"Calypso!" I called , thankfully in a steady voice.

I found her in the room at the end of the hall, crying in her bed,"My o-own brother i-is the-throwing me out because I fell in l-l-love!" She sobbed.

"Well, "I said in a hoarse voice, "Your awesome brother is. . .well he's my mate."

She stopped sobbing and breathing, "Wait what? "She asked and sat up.

"And I'm going to kill myself. Or die, whatever comes first," I half joked.

"What?"

"Maybe a bus will run me over-"

"You're joking right?" She asked amused.

I shook my head,"Oh honey, I wished."

Her face changed and she suddenly broke into a shriek, "SHADE-!"My eyes widen and I tackled her to the bed, covering her mouth in the process.

"Calypso !"James gasped as he appeared at the door then literally threw me across to room and off his mate.

"Aghh, you asshole!" I said and I stood up, holding my head in my hands as it throbbed. I walked out the room, walking back into my room, but then realizing Shadow didn't go to Cali's aid. . .

"What do you want? "I asked as I walked to my luggage by the bed, not paying much attention to Shadow who sat at the edge of the bed.

He stood up,"I want to know who do you think you are to insult me like that."

"Figures that's all you want to know , then I'll get right to the point, I'm Thea Williams, the head fighter in my pack, not an official rank, but it shows my power among the wolves. "

He remains expressionless, almost like a statue.

"So?"I asked slightly hurt he hasn't claimed me as his mate, or even acknowledge me as so.

He crosses his arms and said coldly,"You're my mate. But you don't seem to want one and neither do I." He said and my wolf side whimpered, "And you're. . . hurt?"

I inhaled and immediately recognized the intoxicating scent of his. A mixture of grass and lavender.... my only weakness is the one guy I'm starting to hate. I exhaled, planning on lying to him about my pain, "James threw my off you sister on to the wall, and my cuts are still healing, don't worry." I said monoclonal, neglecting the uncertainty I feel.

He tensed, "Threw you off?"

"She screamed and James got the wrong idea."

His stone gaze didn't flatter and he moved on quickly,"Well then, I will sent the paperwork for her transfer to your pack to your main house and Calypso can leave with you today. "

Taken aback, I gape,"Why are you doing this to her? She's a a person, we all make mistakes -"

"Are you implying my ways of leading mypack are irrational?" He accused.

"No, I am not, though it's not far from it!" I snap.

"You are in no position to raise your voice at me ,Omega! "

I narrowed my eyes, "I may not be in a position to do so, but I will, so if you don't like it, you egotistical, Alpha mudweed, then might as well leave because I honestly don't want to see your face," His eyes widen and then glared at me.

"You have a dangerous temper, Ms . Williams, and I'm not the right person to test it on." He said before he turned to leave.

Then I decided to tease my luck,"Say hi to Castro for me, please, if you will. And tell him that we'll be seeing each other soon. "

His wolf instinct rose and he stopped his tracks ,"And why is that?"

"His sister will be staying with us according to you, and I'm sure he might want to visit her. "

"Oh." He said and continued to walk.

"And looks seem to run in the family." I added quickly .

He lets out a growl and I push my luck,"Are you leaving, or staying here to watch me change. "

He left without another word and so I took off my tank top I was wearing, planning to take a shower, then I noticed he left his jacket.

I took in a shaky breath, my confidence and adrenaline draining away, "Why!?!" I groaned, why did it have to be him? Why is he so cruel and cold? Why is he like this?

I picked up his jacket and threw it to my luggage, there had to be a chance between us, even if I dislike him, there is more to his cold exterior.

The Ball was a so called success, for the others at least. Most of the wolves from our pack found their mates and transferred Packs . Ricky, unfortunately didn't find his mate but Caesar did, and he rode in her car on the way back. James and Calypso rode in the back as I drove the Mustang, Ricky wasn't as pleased.

"Keep it PG 13 please." I said bitterly as I saw them kissing each other through the rearview mirror.

Calypso broke the kiss and giggled,"Sorry."

'Help me!' Ricky said through the packs mind link.

'Kill me.' I said and he smiled. Oh, I'm serious.

My stomach was about to lose it when my finally got home. I slammed the car door immediately and took my stuff out, annoyed to the core . I rushed to my room and slammed the door, then flop down to my bed,no longer able to contain it, I let my tears flow .

I want a mate, okay, I want someone who'll love me for who I am, not for someone they want me to be. But he doesn't want a mate , nevertheless one that goes against everything he believes in. I don't understand, Moon Goddess, why did you make him my mate? I sobbed softly, burying myself in my soft grey blankets, crying till I fell to sleep.
