"Caspian, my real name is Caspian." His voice said from the shadows of the forest as the sun began setting.
I froze,my heart about to climb up my throat and hang itself out of embarrassment . I swallowed hard and turned my head slowly,over my shoulder. Shade - Caspian stood by a tree trunk, hands in his pockets and throat thick .
"About how much did you hear?" I said so softly, it came out as a whisper .
"Enough to know why you don't want, or think you don't deserve a mate. "
I whipped my eyes then turned my body to face him, "So you're here to rub it in my face?" I asked, gathering my knees to my chest.
"No."
"Then what do you want from me!?As if your very own presence already has me on the verge of tears, then it's your idea against having a mate! Why?" I asked in a hoarse voice, cold from the chilly air and lack of clothes.
He shrugged his jacket off,"Those are secrets of mine I choose not to tell." He said and passed me his warm jacket. I ignored him and slid off the tree.
"You seem to know the story of my life, yet I'm here stuck with a blank page with the title of Caspian, "I said as I walked to stand side by side with him,"Don't you think I deserve a little dignity? "
I phase into my smokey colored wolf, exploding out of my clothes and I run off, utterly confused and in need of comfort.
I arrived at the house and found Calypso waiting for me with a change of clothes, next to her, a protective Alpha mate.
"Are you okay? "She mouths.
I move my snout up and down, a nod, but in the inside I felt incapable of being with anyone right now.
After I phased back,I went to my room tried to go to sleep, but Eddie's thundering feet became louder and busted into my room.
"Hey Thea, what's wrong? "He asked as he jumped into the bed.
I wrapped my arms around him, burying him in my embrace, okay, he's okay to be with right now. . . ., "Nothing, I just missed you,Ed."
"Who?" Castor asked as he walked in, Caspian behind him.
"Her boyfriend."Eddie called from under my arms, his teenage voice making it seem like a man already.
"What?" Caspian growled as his blue eyes turned black.
"Yeesh, dude, she my cousin. " Eddie said and sat up to get the remote control, but Castor seemed curious of his brothers sudden action.
I stood up and went to the door as Eddie became hypnotized by the television.
"What do you want?" I asked, tired of asking the same question throughout the day.
"Well, I finally got Shade to agree, but we were wondering if you'd like to train our fighters, just for a week, just to see how it works." Castor said.
I was taken by surprise, "Wait,what?" I asked confused.
"Just as an experiment." Castor said.
I hesitated, this meant that I was going to be miles away from home, stuck in my rejecting mate's house, but I would be able to find out why he doesn't want me,"But I'll have to check it with James and make sure Peter is wake by the time of our next training."I said,hoping one of them would be a no.
"James was all for it, especially since Calypso was very convincing. And as for Peter, well he'll be conscious while you're not here."
I narrowed my eyes but forced a smile, "Okay then,I guess I'm going. . .when actually? "
"Tomorrow, I'll be here at twelve. Castor, let's go. " Caspian said and walked away.
Castor shook his head,"Is it just me, or is he grouchier? "
"Well I don't even know him, so don't ask me." I sighed.
He smirked,"Yeah, see you soon beautiful-"
"CASTOR! ! !" Caspian called from downstairs.
"Yeesh! Bye. "He said and hugged me.
I went downstairs with him,"Bye Castor, Alpha Shade."
He nodded his head and then they walked out, and I let out a sigh of relief
"What happened?" Calypso asked as she took my shoulders suddenly.
I shook my head,"Nothing happened, Luna."
"What did he do?"
"Nothing."
"Tell me!" She pleaded.
"It's the truth, he did nothing, it is like the bond isn't there. Yet he knows we are...look, I don't want to talk about the complexity of your brother, okay?. "
She smiled apologetically, "I'm so sorry he is like that."
"Why is he like that?" I asked .
She froze, "Not my secret to tell."
"Cali!" James called from his office.
Her eyes lit up, "I'm coming Baby." She said and ran to him.
I wished it was that easy.
