I recall a great deal of confusion at first, both angry and fearful. In the end, Ïdathor called for us to return to the ruins of Hamath; claimed he had received word that aid would be given to all who sided with Dwairian, the newly proclaimed Illiri king. That Hamath could be rebuilt greater than before—something about a glorious future free from the Alöwean Empire. I do not know where he got such information. I was tired and consumed with grief. “Dwairian’s message is spreading quickly,” Father commented to me as Ïdathor
