Chapter 7

“I am your Luna, your queen,” Alicia said as she chuckled evilly. Selene couldn’t believe what was happening to her at that time, never in her life has such a thing happened to her. It wouldn’t take anything from her if she took action against Alicia, or maybe it would take a lot from her. She twisted her fingers as she tried her best to keep her temper in check. Alicia noticed her struggles and smiled as if daring Selene to do what she had in mind. “Williams!” Alicia called out the name of the butler in the mansion. Williams ran out quickly as he bowed his head, not daring to look Alicia in the face. “Where is her uniform?” “Uh, I will bring it right away, ma’am,” Williams said as he ran out of the room quickly. Alicia was heartless, she called him into the room of a half-clothed maiden. How disrespectful. Alicia chuckled, again. As she was about to step out of the room. “Can you see that he didn’t address you as Luna, you will never be one, Alice.” Selene taunted. “Shut up, maid.” Alicia left Selene’s room for hers. She had left the room with anger last night. She didn’t understand how Tristan thinks. One moment he was really into her and the next he switched his mood and looked like a beast that came out from hell. She knew why. It was all for that b***h, Selene. He probably thought about her at that moment and he lost interest in her. She opened the door, slowly. She wanted to know what Tristan was doing in the room. She opened the door and was surprised that he wasn’t in the room. She searched for him in the bathroom too but Tristan wasn’t there. Where has the Alpha gone to? ******************** Tristan was in his uncle’s chamber as they were discussing some important issues. “Any change?” His Beta asked him. “No, I can’t feel anything. How sure are you that I’m cursed?” “What do you mean? I’ve always known. Your parents also know that, they tried their best to protect you. And your father died because he tried to take away the pain from you. That’s why you can’t feel anything. But, I know that you are cursed.” His uncle said. “How will I get the orb from Alicia?” “You have to love her, Tristan. She complained yesterday about how you neglected her needs, and…” “Alicia told you how I neglected her needs? Alicia was here with you?” Tristan cut his uncle off as he wouldn’t believe what he just heard. “No. No, you are getting this whole wrong. She wasn’t here. She didn’t plainly tell me you neglected her too. I just gotta figure it out.” “Nonsense!” Tristan left his uncle's room and he went in search of Alicia. He went straight to his room and he saw Alicia lying on the bed. What was she doing on the bed by this time of the day? “Alicia.” He called her name as he restrained the anger in his voice. Alicia who heard her name raised her head up. When she saw that it was Tristan she stood up quickly and put on a pitiful expression. “Alpha,” her voice sounded teary. “I had to go to sleep in the garden last night. You didn't even come to look for me. It was scary outside and I needed you but you weren't there. You don't love me.” Tristan didn't look fazed by her actions. He has already seen lots of this. Is this not the gender that made Adam eat the apple? “What did you tell uncle?” “Uncle? I didn't ——” “Don't make me ask again, Alicia!” Tristan yelled. He was trying his best to be soft to the lady but he couldn't. The only person he could be soft with was the lady he appointed as a slave. “I only said you didn't love me. I promise I didn't say anything else.” “I was in the garden last night. And you said you slept in the garden. Why didn't I see you?” Alicia hadn't expected Tristan to have gone to the garden. What excuse could she give now? “I was at the garden, Tristan. It’s so sad that you don’t even believe me.” Tristan wasn’t ready for her drama. So he ignored her as he sat on the bed. “The garden is one of the largest places in this mansion, you know it”. “Enough of it already. You were in the garden, right? That’s okay.” Alicia didn’t know what else she could say to Tristan to convince him. She didn’t like how indifferent he was acting towards her but she was more grateful that he didn’t get to know where she was last night. “I want to go visit a friend of mine at the villa. Be good, Alpha.” Alicia said this and left without waiting for Tristan’s response. Not like he cares, anyway. A few minutes later, the butler of the mansion knocked on the door and entered the room when he was asked to. “She just left, leader.” The butler said to Tristan. “Order Selene to bring me my breakfast.” The butler walked out of the room without questioning the Alpha’s order. Of course, he could question him if he wants his head out of his neck. Selene was in the kitchen with two of the maids when the butler walked in. “Mm-mm, Selene. The Alpha requests that you serve his food to him this instant!” “Me?” Tristan was the last person Selene would want to see. What is this trap? Her heart turned cold as she remembered the smug look on his face the last time she saw him. She hated him more than she hated Alicia. He was the man, he could have protected her. “Yes, you. Now hurry.” Selene and the other maids packaged the Alpha’s food and handed it over to Selene in a large tray. Selene carefully carried the tray with the food and drinks on it as she carried it to the room. She need not be directed. How could she forget the room? She stood at the front of the room for seconds as she bit her lower lip till it drew out a tiny blood. She was about to knock on the door when the door opened from the inside. Tristan!
