Lilian’s POV “I am not walking up those stairs,” I announced to the interior of the SUV. “They’re infinite. They go all the way to the moon. And my feet have resigned. They sent a letter of resignation. It was very formal.” The engine cut, plunging the car into silence. Outside, the wind howled against the stone facade of Blackwood Manor, but inside, it was warm and smelled like leather and Alexander. The door on my side opened.
