The hospital waited for her voice. She grabbed the intercom and hummed softly in it. Everyone was listening. Patients and doctors. Her lips were open but no sound came out. The founder’s message showed on her screen . “Say my name.” The nurse beside her was crying while still squeezing the manual bag, her hands were slipping and her arms were shaking from exhaustion. “We are out,” the woman whispered. The words hit Yvonne hard. The oxygens are out, not low. The air inside the ward felt thinner instantly. The intercom waited. One sentence, that was all it would take. Yvonne closed her eyes.
