Tucker age ten “Mom’s going to kill me.” “Relax Tucker. It’ll be fine, trust me. Your little sister has probably told her by now.” “I promised mom I wouldn’t leave her alone?” “Relax Tucker. Look at it like this: do you really want a leech hanging around so you can’t make new friends?” I looked at him though I didn’t see Courtney as one he was right. “No I don’t.” “Good come on, you can meet my other friends.” “Sure.” Something in me told me this boy was bad news as his parents had let him wander the streets alone. His house was only two doors down from ours and his friends were waiting for him looking as if someone had killed their cat. “Where have you been Asher?” “I was only two doors down guys we have new neighbours this is Tucker, Tucker my friends; Jesse, Dawson and Bryce there you friends now too.” “Hey nice to meet you.” They all said giving me a low five. “You too.” “So when did you move here?” “Yesterday.” They all nodded. “Which school will you be attending?” “Savoy primary.” They all smirked. “We go there too.” “Cool.” “So what year are you in?” “Six.” “Cool so are we.” We lay in the grass for a while until Jesse suggested we go inside and go on the PlayStation and go up against each other racing and fighting. We were all up for it. I hadn’t realised at the time it was six pm crap I’m in so much trouble. “I have to go, guys.” They looked at the time. “Shoot, we should be getting back to Ashton, it's almost supper time.” “Sure guys.” We all got up and walked out and Ashton walked down the street with me. He could see how nervous I was. “Don’t worry man, everything will be cool trust me.” I smiled and I knew things were not going to be cool. We got to my house and my mom was waiting outside glaring angrily at me now I knew I was in deep trouble. “Where the hell have you been, young man?” “I’ve been at Ashton’s.” She turned her glare towards Ashton. ‘So you’re Ashton?” “I am, it’s nice to meet you mam.” She nodded. “You best be getting home so your parents don’t have a panic attack like I’ve been having all afternoon.” “Yes mam.’ He looked at me. ‘I'll see you at school Monday.” “Yeah sure.” He turned and walked away. My mom glared angrily at me. “How dare you leave your sister like that. I trusted you and you disobeyed me the least, you could’ve done was bring him in and introduce me to your new friend. From now on you’re not going anywhere without your sister understand?” “But moom.” I whined. “Do you understand?” “Yes mom.’ “Now go in and get cleaned up for supper.” I nodded bowing my head. “Courtney you are going to regret you did this. All I wanted was new friends, now you have ruined my every chance. I hate you!” Courtney I jumped as the door of Tucker’s room slammed shut. He was angry though I couldn’t blame him. I had ratted him out, but mom deserved to know where was he could’ve been kidnapped for all she knew. She’d been watching us all morning until she had to do supper. Then he showed up out of nowhere. Had he planned to get my brother into trouble? We all sat around the table silent eating our roast supper, he glared at me intensively. If looks could kill they would’ve. After supper I went upstairs, refreshed and changed for bed. My door burst open and there he was, my older brother with an angry face. “I can’t believe you sis, you know how hard it is for me to make friends and now I may have just lost my new friends because of you.” “Don’t be so dramatic Tucker. You know as well as I do not to step away from the house and never to leave me alone.” “He’s right, you're a leech and you're holding me back.” Well that stung, the brother that had told me no he had promised me he’d always be there to protect me was calling me a horrible name, one I’d never thought he’d call me in a million years. But, only sharing one afternoon with this Ashton boy he’d turned it all around. Tears polled in my eyes. I'd never felt so much hatred for one boy as I fell for Ashton Barraman as I do now he is the devil in disguise. He looked at me. I couldn’t look at him any more. This was not my brother, this was a monster. The boy in front of me was no longer the brother I knew he was a stranger. “I’m sorry Court. I don’t mean…” “GET OUT!” “Court please, I’m sorry.” “I SAID GET OUT!” “Sis.” “I’m not your sister, the one you promised to protect and take care of me. You lied, Tucker. You lied to my face. Leave me alone, go to your new friend. I'm sure he will be glad to know that the leech will no longer be bothering you.” “Sis.” “GET OUT!” I said angrily, one last time throwing my pillow at him. He looked at me devastated before he turned, walking out of my room slamming the door behind him. That’s it, you stay out and stay away from me. From this day forward you will no longer be a brother of mine, until you are no longer friends with Ashton “Asher” Barraman the devil in disguise. Now I truly hate you for ruining my life Ashton Barraman, I vow from this day on I will take my revenge out on you.
