33 Aurelle didn’t want her mom coming to the cottage. She was anxious about her seeing Diana, and wanted to avoid any kind of confrontation, let alone draw more attention to all of them. She knew Marianne was furious about the paintings and her worst fear was that the two of them would fight. She had visions of Diana storming out, leaving her to waste away alone or wander aimlessly and without any purpose. She didn’t know who she was anymore, not really.
