Sergio Correja was a forty-four year old man from Valencia. He was good, no doubt. But that third day, Reggie was better than him. Despite the wind skimming the golf course, he finished the first nine holes with an enviable score under par. But it was during the second nine that he gave his best performance.
Thanks to Russell’s suggestions, overcoming the obstacle at seventeen was as easy as drinking a glass of water. He ended the second nine holes with three birdies, earning him the best result among all the players that day. The leaderboard at the end of the round showed Russell alone at the top, at nine under par for the tournament. Reggie was in the third position, tied with Ian Donaldson.
