Matthew was walking, leaving Ava's house behind. He knew that it was a slim chance to see Helen and Rex that moment. They wouldn't finish their jobs at the same time, and they didn't know when the zeppelin would take off.
He tried to observe more about the city, on his way, he stopped for a second and took a deep breath. He wanted to take a moment to internalize all that. He was in the future, standing on the ground which belonged to an island in the air. Also, he thought he had just fallen in love.
