Dave was right. Cal was surprised at how much more relaxed he was. They lucked out and found a nice little brew pub on Friday, and spent Saturday doing what little sightseeing they could. It was the first time since he’d been back that Cal had really taken the time to get reacquainted with the place he’d grown up. His few trips out had been limited to the strip mall and the familiar comfort of chain stores. The downtown area had really expanded since he’d left home. At that time, they’d been in an economic slump; local manufacturing had shut down, leaving lots of people out of work.
