Cal slept like a baby that night, the best since coming home. He had another busy day ahead. The landscaping was just about finished for the time being, which meant Cal would be seeing less of Andy, but he hoped they’d still be able to spend time together in the evenings. The roofers would be done in the next day or two. Other than the one area of rotten boards, the rest of the project had gone smoothly. Cal wasn’t sure if they were taking longer than they should, but he felt like he should cut them some slack given how hot the afternoons got. There was no need for anyone to pass out from heatstroke just to finish Cal’s roof.
