Auto kept his distance, and at first, Frankie just assumed he decided he didn't want the baby.
Then, people started sending her money. Paying for doctors appointments. Her rent was paid. And then, by coincidence, she won a brand new house and a new car!
Of course, all these people were under different names, but she knew who it was.
Frankie didn't mind. If he wanted to take care of his child financially, more power to him. She would never accept anything but best she could offer to her child.
He offered.
Of course, she didn't stop working. Frankie refused to depend on people because people weren't dependable.
She went to her first scan and found out she had two.
A boy and a girl.
She fainted. Two? Two! See, if she got two for the price of one, maybe she could deal, but this was two at price of two and two was f*****g expensive.
Not to mention her being, one person.
She went home in her new car, drove to her new house and crashed on her new bed.
She was f*****g exhausted.
Auto looked at the scan as the doctor pointed out where his baby was.
Frankie had the whole scan recorded. He smiled softly. She was smart and sweet. And so, so beautiful.
He watched the video, with a smile.
"Baby A looks like a girl."
Doctor say what now?
"Baby A? Baby A is indicative of more children."
"Yes! Baby B is a boy!"
"Congrats Mom, you're having twins!"
Auto passed out when she did.
He woke up an hour late to Grim kicking him the back.
He had the craziest dream. He got this beautiful woman pregnant with not one, but two kids. His active imagination.
"Why the hell am I on the floor?"
"You passed out when you heard the word twin."
He whimpered. He sat up, legs sprawled on the carpet.
"Grim! I'm f****d Grim!"
Grim agreed completely, so he just patted his friend's head reassuringly.
★
Grim still didn't trust this 'Babydoll'. He went to inspect her before she pawned two kids on his friend's lovesick ass.
He knew she was a schemer. She already had Auto paying out of his ass for a house, a car, and god knows what else.
He had money, but damn. Not that much.
Almost Two Million he'd spent already on her and that kid. He was still doling out gifts, from his reservoir.
She had him wrapped around her little finger, but Grim had no problem snapping it.
Driving over to the house Auto made him find and purchase for him, he was determined he'd get her to spill her guts, give her check and watch her disappear.
Then everything would go back to normal. Feeling confident in his foolproof plan he smirked as he unlocked the front door.
He walked in to a little latina whining in the kitchen will cooking.
"Despacito
Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito
Deja que te diga cosas al oído
Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo."
Grim took a moment to appreciate this beautiful sight, and thank the god he barely believed in that this wasn't his best friend's girl.
"What are you doing here?" He demanded, shocking her. On instinct, she hurled the nearest knife at him while cursing in Spanish.
Grim's eyes widened as he tried to duck and dodge various cooking utensils.
"Tonya, why are you throwing knives," Tonya instantly dripped everything in her hand at her best friends slurred demand.
"We talked about this. Don't try knives. It's simple. Y'know normal people don't even have be told that—"
Her eyes snapped alert at the presence of Grim. She'd seen him with Auto that day.
Still, she whirled around with a smile. "I take it back, thank you for protecting me. You're the best little sister a girl could ask for."
Tonya grinned proudly. She was only nineteen, and still very much a child.
"Thank you, Hermana."
"We'll work on your aim next time, huh?" Grim was astounded appalled as she turned and surveyed the damage like one would examine a car wreck.
"You did graze him, and I imagine he's pretty fast. That's my girl."
Maybe, Grim thought, she is more suited to this life than Auto thought.
"Grim isn't it?"
He nodded.
She smiled amicably. "Why the hell do you have a key to my house?"
Grim blinked. He was a tall formidable man, not many men let alone women spoke to him like that. Or at all.
"Technically it's Auto's house."
Her glare only sharpened. "Well, then Auto better get his technical ass here, and explain why a man I don't know has a key to the house he gave me."
Grim remembered his plan. "Look little girl."
Frankie put her hand on her hip and quirked a brow giving him a look his Momma gave him.
A keep-going-I-dare-you-to look.
He cleared his throat. "Look lady. Auto is my best friend. So I'm gonna need you to take your children take this check and go."
He stared her down trying to intimidate her.
Frankie didn't respond. She just looked right back at him.
Tonya, on the other hand, was fuming. She marched over to the man, hot spatula in hand, and glared up at him.
Eyes the spatula he tried not to laugh but it was hard. She looked like an angry kitten trying to roar like a lion. So cute.
"You look here, you overgrown oaf. You better watch how talk to my sister. You don't come in here and run shit."
Frankie raised a brow again. Tonya looked at her and back.
"Run stuff. If you wanna do something to her, your gonna go through me."
Grim could help it. "I don't see why you think that's hard to do."
Frankie winced.
Tonya kneed him in the nuts, then punched his throat.
"See why now?"
Grim nodded, his eyes misting. s**t!
"Good."
"Alright, Tonya I think he's had enough. He's fine. For now."
"Sit," Frankie offered as if her guard chihuahua didn't just kill his future children.
"Why are you really here?"
Straight to business.
"I told you. The jig is up. You want money, I'll give it to you, but leave him alone."
Frankie didn't say anything, just absently rubbing her swollen belly, looking at him.
"You love your best friend. I get it. Tonya is basically my little sister. I'd kill for her, and I don't mean that metaphorically. But you can't just barge in here, and demand I take your money and leave."
Grim pursed his lips.
"Do you know how disrespectful that is? You basically implied I'm paid w***e and you're just giving me an early vacation."
He withheld a wince.
"I won't take your money, Grim. And if your friend wishes take back his money," She shrugged. "It's his. Just don't be unnecessarily disrespectful along the way. That sound reasonable?"
Hesitantly, he nodded. Tonya shook her head sadly.
"Well Let's start over. I'm Frankie, this is my little sister Tonya. What's your name?"
"T—Grim."
What is this sorcery? She was like his Mother. Just like his mother. He just got lectured. And he listened. What the—
"It's getting late, I'm sure you're hungry. Tonya is almost finished with dinner and I'll make some cookies."
Oooh, cookies.
"That sounds nice, Ms. Frankie."
She grinned. "Just Frankie is fine. Relax, watch TV. "
And do you want to know something crazy? He did. He watched SpongeBob. He liked it.
Grim didn't like what he was becoming. He had to get out of there.
"Cookies are ready!"
Ooohhh cookies!
