By now, it was just me, Lorenzo, Raven, Claudia, Diego—who had been unusually quiet—Beta Leo, and the two gammas. The others had already gone to the listening chamber.
Lorenzo nodded at me as we reached the tenth floor. I nodded back, a small wave of relief washing over me. But beneath that thin layer of comfort, fear coiled around my gut like a venomous snake.
