Kimberly swallowed, "Would you want to remain with me after the one year if I ask you to? Regardless of everything you know about me?" Kimberly asked looking at him anxiously.
Eric looked at her, slightly startled by the question since he hadn't been expecting. Why was she asking him that all of a sudden? Was it because she liked him or was it because she was worried about how her life would be without him after he left?
Eric didn't know what to say to her. He wanted to ask her different questions, but he couldn't bring himself to do that. Her question was directed at Eric King, not Tunde Eric Obasan. He knew he could protect her more as Tunde than as Eric, since no one would dare speak to his wife rudely without facing the consequences for the action.
