THE LIGHT

Have you ever heard of the word wrong turn? Maybe you yourself have ever taken a wrong turn from the market to your home or simply from home to school. It, not a big deal is it. Coz at the end, it always brings you to your destination no matter the duration it takes. Dann was driving home from work. It was in the middle of the dead night around 2 AM in the morning. He had finished writing an article that was due in the morning by his boss. He had once delivered an article late, which he swore never to do again because he felt the wrath and fury of his boss.  "He is not a bad person," Dann was always heard in office conversations saying this. The truth of the matter is unknown. The relationship between employees and employers is always on a scale swinging from end to end with no definite weight. Dann loved his job, he always put a hundred percent of his energy into his job, he slept less, ate less, talked less but typed more which was what he was told to do if he wanted to retain his job till he retired. He picks up his phone which was vibrating near the car gear system. He looks at the caller, it was Jenna. I would like to call her the love of his life but that was not true. Dann and Jenna had only met a month before in an office party that was organized in a local stripper club. They thought it would only be for the night, but it went to two nights till now a month. Their lust for each other is nothing of this earth. If only it was love!  "Hello baby," Jenna jumped in first. "Hi, have I kept you up too long." "No...not at all...But it will be a relief if you heard been here" "Am sorry work was just too much today." " Then you will be glad about what I have planned for you." chuckling. "Do you have your birth suit on" Dann had taken to Jenna like a lion to its prey. Constantly devouring her each night. It always felt like the first night to him. I guess the Russian accent that Jenna talked in aroused him or is it the deep blue eyes that she possessed that smothered his heart with the feeling of love. He felt like this was the missing piece in his heart, the piece that will make him whole. He wished the car would grow wing so that he may get to her fast. Her warmth is what he earned fro and he was driving to get it. """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" A light appears from the sky. It was not unusual to see shooting stars in the night sky where Dann lived. It was quite usual to read a newspaper where a shooting star fell on a farm or on a road or maybe it crashed a whole building, that is devastating. The light that the star was amazing even to someone like Dann who did not care much about what the sky threw down. The car was moving steadily through the road. Dann turned on the radio to pass time and break the silence in the car. It is no fun to drive alone in the car. You always get agitated in any movement on the road, you know all the stories of serial killers may happen to you or maybe get attacked by a vampire or one of those mystical creatures that live and dwell in the dark.  Looking outside the widow Dann notice the shooting star was behaving abnormally. He thought that maybe fatigue was clouding his judgment. He rubbed his eyes to make sense of things. His brain cells were burning up at this point. The shooting star had stopped in mid-air. It was as if time had stopped. The fire was still seen burning from the upper and lower end. It looked like a magnesium rod exposed to heat. Dann stopped the car. His mind thought this might be a big story for the article company. It may even land me a promotion. He gets out of the car to take a good look from the outside. It was now clear that what he saw was the real thing. He leans back into the car and picks his digital camera that had a lense that would zoom into a termite hole making it crater-like. After one or two tweaks he aims at the sky and takes a flash. The image was still blurred and unclear so he takes several other shots. After his tenth shot, he noticed something crazy. The shooting star had changed direction. It was headed his way. Dann had feelings of excitement combined with fear. The shooting star was headed his way may give him a good shot of it yet, on the other hand, it may kill him and therefore the story may not come true through him. He decides to get in the car and drive to a safe distance where he may not get killed.  As the star got closer and closer Dann noticed that the star was emitting different colors. It was an amazing site more like the awe-rora borealis in Alaska. The green light burned brighter than the rest of the colors. Dann steps on the gear. The car was moving at 180 mph at this time. The shooting star was moving at double the speed that in the sky.  If you have ever been chased by a street dog you will be able to fill what Dann's mid was going through at this point. It was like someone in the savanna being chased by a lion or cheater, nowhere to hide you just have your legs to save you. Looking on his side mirror the object was on his tail. If he was to hit his brake in a moment he would not have a second more to undo his dead. H tried to stepping harder on the gas but the car was only limited to 180 mph due to the speed governor. What was meant to keep him safe was going to get him killed.
