Chapter 6 The bright and warm Saturday afternoon left enough chill in the air that Michael wore his jacket as he walked back from Derek’s house. They had been friends since shortly after Michael and his father moved to town a few years ago, and they often hung out on weekend afternoons after finishing chores. Most of the time, they had fun together. Derek had his own TV and several video game systems they could play, which was awesome since Michael’s dad said he wasn’t old enough to have a system yet. Today’s game hadn’t been quite as fun though. It wasn’t the kind of games they usually played; Derek had borrowed one of his older brother’s games.
