Lily's POV
Fragile Victory
This didn't feel like a ride I would normally win, and I hate how hard I was struggling when I had gotten so close to the end.
“You should just go. I can't catch up.” I say to Jake, hoping he will listen to me so I won't make him lose his long-held title.
I didn't want to feel guilty about that.
“You have to drive faster for your own safety. Look behind you; five is coming, and he won't just pass by you; he will hit you with that power speed he is approaching you with.” His voice shakes with the speed of the race, as his words barely survive the wind.
I look behind me, and truly, I see the way five was approaching my direction. I'm sure if it got closer than that, I would find myself in the hospital afterwards.
They really don't care
