Lily's POV
The Price of Defiance
It is the first time in my life where I get to experience a moment of Beta Damon standing against Alpha Kegan.
It's like a view that had never been seen before.
The reaction on all our faces seems almost planned.
One filled with surprise.
The guards hesitate and the silence stretches longer than it should.
Then Alpha Kegan begins to laugh. The kind of laugh that makes my stomach twist.
“I knew it,” he says.
Nobody responds.
My dad slowly nods, clapping as he walks towards Beta Damon with a smile.
“I knew a day like this would come.”
Beta Damon remains standing. His expression doesn't change.
“For years, I knew there would come a day when you would forget your place, and I prepared for this moment a long time ago.”
