The Loose Grip
“I saw him leave from here, and while he was walking away, he said he would get back at you and make sure he told Alpha Kegan your secrets.” The guard says.
I stand up and walk hastily to him.
The guard is frightened because I did not look pleased by what he had just told me.
“Do you know what can happen to you if I find out that what you're saying is a lie?” I say, gripping him by his shirt.
He trembles as he says, “Ye… yes. I know what would happen, but I have no reason to lie. These were the exact words he said.”
Jake walks over to me and calmly lets the guard off my tight grip.
“Would Phil really want to lose his life by doing that?” I ask Jake like he would have an idea of how gullible Phil can be.
