Too Late to Turn Back
I grumble because I'm already running late, and it would be terrible if I got there only to find out I was the only one foolish enough to show up in such an unsafe place.
“Who's there?”
“It's me,” my dad says.
It feels very odd that he's coming to my room at this time of the night.
I quickly close the curtains and pull off my leather jacket before shoving my purse and keys under the bed.
Dusting off my clothes, I take a deep breath and walk over to the door.

He gives me a long, hard stare.
