Ahmity gathered the survivors together at the village roundhouse. The troll attack was quick and brutal. They ran through the village hacking at everything in their path then disappeared as quickly as they came. Trolls cannot last long in the heat of the day. It would take generations of breeding from Mikado’s line before they could physically adapt. The swiftness of their attack, combined with the village’s lack of defenses, was devastating. More than half of the villagers had been mercilessly slaughtered. If it hadn’t been for Tom’s savage defense and Ahmity’s magic the entire village would have been lost.
