Chapter Ten-1

800 Words

Chapter Ten Tom tucked his wings behind him and dove into the river. The heat of the day washed away in the rushing water. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d gone for a swim. His thoughts went back to his summers in St Louis camping at Meramec Caverns with Hopper’s family who always had him and Jack in tow. He grunted at the thought of how much they loved walking through the caves. They were so fascinated by the temperature change and the utter darkness. Now he thought nothing of the stalactites and glossy surface of the rock formations shaped like waterfalls. He smiled at how ridiculous it was to be so scared in those caves in the real world. The people on tours through those caves had no idea how to truly fear the darkness. Boy, what c*****e he could wreak in this form back home.
