The Cursed Luna’s Redemption

Chapter 3

Jake’s POV

It’s been 2 days that Raine has been locked up underground. I wonder why I feel so terrible about that, it isn’t her first time being locked up so I wonder why this particular one is affecting me.

Although I rarely lay my hands on her, I’ve seen my father do it several times which feels so normal.

Sonia sat comfortably on my laps, with her arms wrapped around my shoulders. She held me as tight as she could as her soft lips glided over my cheeks. It felt lovely but my mind was somewhere else which was strange.

“I don’t know why I keep thinking of Raine, is she okay?” I asked

“Why would you ask me such question? You suggested to your father to send her down there remember?” She responded.

“Yes I did, but isn’t that a bit much?” I asked,

“Are we seriously talking about this now?” She asked, scrunching up her face.

“C’mon I can’t go back to that lowlife, I can never have a weak lady as our Luna. That position is yours alone,” I assured her

“Better,” she said, rolling her eyes.

“My wolf has been so distant from me for a while now ever since I decided to reject Raine, I wonder why that’s happening,” I said

“You haven’t broken your bond yet so it’s normal. Why’s that taking forever by the way? She asked

“Raine has been the one delaying but I will get her to do it as soon as the alpha releases her,” I responded.

I have always known Raine for years, we used to be very good friends but things changed when she turned sixteen and couldn’t gain her wolf. I knew few months before that she was going to be my mate since I was older but since she couldn’t gain her wolf, I decided to let her be. Not because I didn’t love her, I still have feelings for her regardless but I just couldn’t see myself taking a weak and helpless lady as my Luna. That wasn’t ever going to happen.

I know Raine loves me very much that’s why she’s finding it difficult to break the bond no matter how bad I treat her. She’s a beautiful blonde girl with blue eyes, she has a great figure eight shape that makes all the men go crazy.

She used to be the talk of town among boys here in school and even outside school before we all realised she couldn’t gain her wolf. We werewolves see humans as lesser creatures and very inferior to us. So if a werewolf can’t gain her wolf, what difference is she to a mere human. We couldn’t fathom seeing a werewolf with a human, it’s demeaning and a taboo.

Regardless, several werewolves still hover around her because of her beauty and great body. Most of them do so for s****l intentions and not because they want her as her mate. Her body is so tempting.

Sonia on the other hand is also pretty but not as pretty as her sister. To me, she was a better option for a Luna.

“So what’s the plan? When will she be released?” Sonia asked,

“As soon as she wakes up,” I responded

“That reminds me, don’t you find it strange that she fainted after being injected with wolfsbane? Someone who doesn’t have a wolf shouldn’t be affected by wolfsbane,”

Sonia responded and said, “that doesn’t change anything, she has never gained her wolf and now she’s turning 18 soon, it’s obvious she won’t still gain her wolf. I’m sure she fainted because of her fear for needles and not the wolfsbane, she’s weak remember?

“You have a point there,” I responded

“Yes I do. The faster you break the bond, the better because I’m beginning to lose my cool,” Sonia added.

“We’ll get it over with when she wakes up, I can promise you that,” I swallowed heavily as I replied her.

My father interrupted suddenly in the middle of our discussion.

“You both look bothered, what’s the issue?” He asked,

“Nothing we can’t handle. By the way, how far regarding Raine?” I was so curious to know the latest.

“Oh, yes. I’m sure she has learnt her lesson by now never to disobey an order from her alpha. I’ve ordered her release already since she has woken up,” he said.

“I’m certain she has surely learnt her lesson,” I replied while nodding my head endlessly.

“If you’d excuse me, I have some important business to attend to, I just came to check on you and your Luna-to-be,” he gave a wide grin as he spoke.

I faked a laugh and peck her on the cheek. She’s so clingy and still remained on my laps the entire time.

Suddenly, her rubbed her soft palms around my chest gently and gradually unbutton by shirt. Before I could say anything, she placed her lips on mine, biting my bottom lips gently.

I became horny that very instant and couldn’t think straight anymore. She’s so persuasive and knows how to get whatever she wants to get at anytime.

She rubbed my head continuously as we kissed, as her hands went around my chest down to my trousers. I couldn’t tell her to stop because I wanted her real bad also at that moment.

Before I could think of anything, I was already inside her. Everything about her was sweet down to the way she moaned, it encouraged me to go harder like she liked it. It lasted for 10mins but felt like the sweetest moment of my entire life.

Later that evening, I went to the tree behind the pack house in search of Raine, it was a usual spot we both liked when we were much younger. Since I checked her at home and didn’t find her, one could only guess she would be there and so I went ahead.

When I moved close to the tree, I saw a figure under the tree that resembles hers. She sat on the ground, plug her ears listening to some nice soul tracks with tears dripping from her eyes. I watched her for a little while before calling her.

“Raine! Raine!” I called her but didn’t get any response, it was obvious she was overwhelmed by the song she was listening to.

I then tapped her gently on the back to get her attention. She jumped up out of fear, it appears she wasn’t expecting anyone.

“What are you doing here Jake?” She asked, giving me a dirty look.

I couldn’t respond at that moment, I just stared at her endlessly. Although she looked weak and tired which was normal after all she went through. Regardless, she was still beautiful as ever.

“Focus bro, Focus!” I said to myself as I tapped my laps hard.

“Are you that eager to break the bond?” She asked

I sized her up and responded, “why’s it taking this long? Let’s just get this over with.”

“Well, I have good news for you, I’m not interested in being your mate either. I can never be with someone who treats me like trash, I deserve better,” she responded.

I was shocked to hear her say that, she has never spoken back at me before but all of a sudden, she has become more outspoken.

“Are you trying to tell me you don’t love me?” I asked as I stuck my nose in the air.

“Love? Are you for real right now? You must be joking. Would you love you if you were me? My love for you ended when you began treating me like trash,” she responded,

“So just get it over with then and let’s leave the long talks,” I said, as a growl came out of my throat. I was never this rude to her but it all started when she couldn’t transform, she’s inferior and I can never find myself associating with her.

She looked at me without budging and afterwards, I was shocked to see that she wasn’t sad or worried about breaking her bond with me.

"She is our gift from the Moon Goddess, please don't do it," my wolf said, but I couldn't care less.

“If you reject her, I won’t forgive you and I can promise you that,” my wolf said.

I didn’t care about that because getting married to your mate benefits our wolf more but I was willing to satisfy myself more in this case.

Before I could say anything, she interrupted and said, “ I’m certain your wolf, Rex doesn’t want you to reject me, I can see you struggling from within,”

“How do you know its name?” I asked out of curiosity. I never told anyone the name of my wolf so it came as a big shock to me.

“Don’t worry about that,” she said,

“By the way, aren’t you surprised I passed out after being injected by wolfsbane?” She added,

Before I could utter a word, she looked me straight in the eyes and said, “I, Raine reject you, Jake, future Alpha, as your mate and future Luna by my will and my words.”

I felt a heavy pain on my chest immediately after, it was obvious our bond broke at that very moment. I took a deep shuddering breath from my mouth and responded,

“I, Jake accept your rejection, Raine, as my mate and…” I paused for a while to catch my breath, the pain was alot but I wondered why she didn’t feel any pain also.

Finally, I said again, “I, Jake, accept your rejection, Raine, as my mate and Luna by my will and my words.”

Immediately after saying that, the pain grew and I had to lie down flat on the ground. I never knew breaking a bond will be this painful.

Raine stood strong and watched me struggle on the ground. She didn’t feel anything pain, it was almost as if she was very strong and powerful to withstand the pain but we both knew she was a weakling. The fact that she was still standing strong was still a mystery to me.

I was less concerned about that and more concerned about how the pain was going to subside at that moment.

“Rex, are you there?” I called out to my wolf but didn’t get any response, It appeared it was angry at me. I laid on the ground for almost an hour to allow the pain subside then I stood and headed to the pack house.

Sadness clouded my features as I walked back to the pack house, Rex refused to speak to me that moment, it felt like the whole world was falling apart in my face. Suddenly, I heard a loud scream from distance, “please help me.”
