ASHINA
I managed to get ready for breakfast and I thought I was going to eat alone, but I saw Tre in the hallway as if he was waiting for me. I walked past him and I heard him sigh.
“Can we talk for a second?”
“One. Done.” I counted then I turned around and took a step when I felt his arm circle my waist. And now my back is against the wall with his lips almost touching mine. Being an Alpha has its perks— Tre is really strong and fast.
“I know you’re upset about this morning.”
Upset? Me? Never! But I didn’t say that. How could I when Foxy thoughts are making me delirious. I want to kiss Tre’s lips and—
“You said we can’t have any accidents during our ‘special’ time—“ When he said special, that meant our fake relationship. “I almost lost control this morning and I am sorry.”
“You’re sorry?!”
Now Foxy was pissed and instead of listening to him more, I pushed him and walked away as fast as I can. He’s sorry! The horrible feeling I felt this morning doubled.
And now tripled— I found Tyr and Connie having breakfast and acting like they didn’t do anything wrong. I changed my mind about breakfast so I turned on my heels only to bump into Tre’s chest. I felt his arm go around my waist.
“Relax. I got you,” he whispered in my ear. “Where are you going? Kitchen’s that way.” He pointed to where his brother is currently located.
“I forgot that I have something to do. Can you drive me home now?”
“What happened to giving them a show? Chickening out now?” I felt his warm breath near the spot on my neck where he’s going to claim me.
“Of course not! I just—“ He raise a brow. “Fine!”
“Good call. Remember to be sweet to me.”
I gave him an eye because that was my line to him not too long ago. He chuckled then winked at me before taking my hand with his.
All eyes were on us when we walked in to the kitchen. The maids were there and they all looked like deers on a headlight.
“Good morning!” Tre greeted them with a smile and I heard them gasp a little. Does he not greet them every morning? They all looked surprised.
He pulled a chair for me and I sat across from Tyr who did not spare me a glance. However, Connie was looking at me funny.
“You stayed for the night?” she asked.
“I don’t think it’s any of your business, but to answer your question— yes.” I quickly looked at Tre before looking back at Connie. “I did.”
When coffee was served, only one cup was poured. She picked it up thinking Tre probably had his coffee earlier, or maybe he’s tea drinker. He’s thirty and old. She chuckled at the thought.
“Tsk. I almost forgot you were drunk last night and with the rejection—“
“Connie!” Tyr yelled Connie’s name in anger. “Ash is welcome to stay here whenever she wants. And please do not mention what happened last night. That’s not appropriate.”
Connie’s face reddened in an instant especially when the maids started to whisper.
“I would like to have breakfast with my future Luna in peace. Leave us please.” Tre said to the maids.
Their eyes were glued to me. I am pretty sure that they were able to put two and two together and figured out that I was rejected by Tyr last night and now engaged to his brother. This is exactly what I am trying to avoid, but there’s no turning back now.
I needed a sip of coffee but Tre beat me to it. He is now holding my cup and sipping from it while Tyr and Connie are looking at us in shock.
“What do you mean future Luna? You are not referring to Ash, are you?” Tyr didn’t look happy.
“And if I am, what are you going to do about it?” Trev answered nonchalantly.
Tyr growled, but he is no match for his brother is an Alpha. Tre’s eyes glinted and with the silver color, it looked like a sharp diamond.
I don’t want them to get into a fight so I stood up and told them to stop, but they won’t listen.
“Tyr, after the rejection last night— your brother became my second chance.”
Tre finally broke the eye contact with his brother and stood up to take my hand.
“She’s mine.” It was Finn who said that.
Tyr’s lips went into thin line. He was pissed. In their years of friendship, he knew him. When he is mad, he is like this— growling. When he is happy, he would be hugging me. And when he is frustrated, he would shift and go for a run.
I don’t know what he is mad about though. He already rejected me and made it clear that he doesn’t want me.
And then the corner of Tyr’s lips went up slowly. Now he’s laughing to the point that he almost fell off his chair.
“Good one! I know what you’re up to.” He combed his hair with his fingers then asked Connie to get up.
“I’m not finished—“
“I’ll get you something else. Let’s go.” When Connie pouted, Tyr kissed her lips and made sure I would see it. I just rolled my eyes and shook my head in annoyance. Their public display was nauseating.
Tre and I looked at each other once they left. It was just the two of us now. Did Tyr figure out the plan? That we were just faking it? I have to step up this game.
“Are they mates?” I asked Tre.
“No. My brother is just being an asshole. He wants you back now because I am your second chance.”
