Chapter 12

ASHINA I couldn't decide which one to get. I liked the dark blue dress but Tre liked the red one more. It was the color of his pack as well. "We should get both. Throw in the white empire dress too. I like that—" He groaned slightly when I pinched his side a bit to stop his teasing. I knew it didn't hurt, and he was just being dramatic. I really like this side of him. Before he could say more, his phone rang. "I have to take this outside. Will you be okay if I leave you for a bit? They have to take your measurements now and adjust the dresses. I'll just be in the car." "It's fine. Take your time." He kissed my cheek and went on his way. I stared at his back and couldn't help but bite my lower lip. He's got a really sexy physique. Women on the street were ogling him, but he didn't pay them any attention. If he didn't have the serious look on his face all the time years ago, there would be more women chasing him. "Whenever you're ready, Ma'am," one of the women said to me. Ms. Lauren was on the phone so the other two were tending to me. "Sorry, I'm ready now." They asked me to go to the mini podium they have and Sheryl started measuring me while the other one wrote in her notebook. Just then, three people walked in— two women and one man. I recognized the two women back from university and I didn't particularly like them. "Is that Ash Alberty?" I heard Catherine ask Kristine. Kristine smirked. "Maybe. Let's not pay her any attention though. I heard she got rejected by her mate over her cousin who was sluttier than her." I tried not to make a scene, so I tried to ignore it. Sheryl and Tara looked uncomfortable upon overhearing what the new customers were talking about. "What was her name? Connie?" Catherine nodded. "Well, it's not like any of the Alpha's would want someone like her. Connie was just someone you just f*ck once and done with. However, this one was just so good at acting and pretended to be a virgin, so that men would want her more." "What a loser." Catherine chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Will you both stop it?" said the man with them. "Stop what? That b***h deserves it, you know? She stole Mark from me," said Catherine. The man's face hardened. "No one can steal a good man, Catherine. Mark was an a*shole from the getgo, and I was trying to tell you to break up with him. He was no good for you anyway." "I am your baby sister, Colton. You should be taking my side, not hers!" Catherine looked livid. So the two are siblings. Tsk. And this Colton guy sounded pretty decent based on their conversation. "I'm just saying you had it coming. Mark was not a good man, and you shouldn't blame other people for his sins, especially if you have no proof." "I don't need proof! I saw them talking and laughing. What more do you want?" "I am not here to argue. You asked me to drive you and your friend, so you could look for some dresses. If you throw a tantrum here— I will leave. You can hail a cab when you're done." Catherine stomped her foot. "Goddess! You're so annoying, Colt! Kris, let's go look for a dress." The dresses I picked were still on the counter and Ms. Lauren was placing them in a box, so they could be altered. "Oh wow! I like that blue dress!" Kristine exclaimed. "I'll take the red one! It's so pretty! This is exciting, Kris! We didn't even have to waste time browsing their catalogue. It's as if these dresses are made here especially for us." Tara and Sheryl looked at each other before looking at me and I winked at them. "They want your dress, Ms. Ash." Tara whispered. "It's okay. Ms. Lauren knows what to do. Let's just continue what we're doing so the Alpha and I could get some lunch soon." I smiled at Tara. She is very nice, like Sheryl. Just like I predicted, Ms. Lauren told Kristine and Catherine that the dresses were no longer available. They were not happy and insisted on getting the dress. They were even willing to pay double. "I'm sorry, but it's no longer available. We have other dresses, but these are paid for already." "You're in business, Lauren. We are the customers and we are already offering to pay double." Catherine smirked. "Did you want me to triple it instead?" Goddess! Catherine was making a fool of herself. She's insulting the manager of the store who has been nothing but kind since she arrived. "Tell me who bought it and I will talk to that b***h! We can do bidding for the dresses so that you get more money. You want more money to run the business, right?" Catherine was on a roll. Her mother should have swallowed the load so that this woman does not grace the Earth with her stupidity. I may be a brat to Tre before, but I was nothing like this woman who enjoys insulting another person for the hell of it— a dress for that matter. Ms. Lauren cleared her throat. "I'm afraid that even if you offered ten times the money or did a bidding war at this second, the Alpha of Lunar Moon pack would let you have the dresses." "T-The A-Alpha of L-Lunar Moon— you mean Tre Holt?" Catherine looked flabbergasted. "He is buying these dresses for the ball? He doesn't have a Luna yet." Kristine looked smug, and I don't know where she got the confidence until she said, "You know he will be choosing a Luna on the night of the ball. I heard about it from one of the girls at the club. We are so lucky that we've been invited. Maybe he is buying these dresses so the future Luna could wear it." Catherine's eyes looked dreamy. "I saw him a few times. He looked very handsome, but so serious. I am sure I can tame him." Kristine scoffed a little. "Between the two of us, I will have a better chance at getting his attention." Catherine rolled her eyes. "Whatever! May the best woman win." They shook each other's hands not knowing Tre already chose me— his Fated Mate.
