And so time passed until the remaining six months were up and my program finally came to an end. I had to say goodbye to the friends I’d made, the new bonds I’d formed, and that day I packed up my bags, waiting for the car that would come pick me up. Randy stepped out of the car wearing a mischievous smile the moment he saw me and walked over. “You look dignified now,” he teased, and I could tell he was fighting the urge to grin.
