Chapter Forty-OneShortly after she had spoken to Alan, Agnes received a call from reception telling her that her cousin, Sue Wilberforce, was asking for her.
“Send her up, please,” Agnes replied.
Alan had said a detective would be with her shortly, but she was rather surprised she had arrived so quickly. Nevertheless, though Agnes was expecting the knock on her door, she took the precaution of looking through the peephole and asking who it was before she opened the door.

“I understand you have something for me to take back to the station,” she said, as she entered the room.
