Chapter Twenty-FiveWhen Agnes stepped outside the hotel, she changed her mind about going to the café. She suddenly had the idea of walking along the quayside towards Bessie Surtees House. Why not? It was still quite pleasant and she had plenty of time before she needed to shower and dress for her date with Alan. He wouldn't be picking her up for another three hours yet.
Besides, she had promised herself another visit to the house and now was as good a time as any. The stroll might even help to clear away the thoughts of what had happened earlier that day. It seemed to be working as, shortly after she set off, she began to feel much better.
