Well, this was unexpected. This wasn't a courtesy call. It had to be something important for him to be calling me this much, this early in the morning.
"Your phone has been buzzing," Veronica complained as she fell back on the bed. "I don't know what happened last night, but my head hurts."
I gazed at the phone, wondering what might have happened that would warrant him to call me this much. Had he already caught wind of what happened last night?
I opened the messages, but all three of them held the same message:
"Call me back!"
The exclamation was enough to get me on my feet. I was already changing into a fresh set of clothes even before I could have my shower.
