I completely hate surveilling. And unfortunately for me, it's what I've had to do for three weeks in order to get my plan right. I've watched Jason everyday and I can confidently report when he leaves his house for work and what he does on Friday nights.
He f***s. He f***s on Friday nights. Lucky stupid prostitutes.
Right now, I'm watching him while he has lunch. Boring.
The past three weeks have been boring.
Is this my life now? I realise I ask myself that question more often that not these past days.
Watching him has taught me that he's an early animal who meets up his 8 o'clock meetings by getting to work before 7:30 each day. I know that he has 10 bodyguards. 4 are stationed at his house, 5 outside his office complex and 1 tails him.
He seems fond of his tail - Jay, that's what he calls him.
I also know that he eats a good meal at lunch at his restaurant even though he has a home chef and he drinks each night with his friends at his club. I also know that he has an inhouse gym and a personal trainer who comes by every Sunday alongside Reynold - his best friend. They train, box, exercise, and eat afterwards.
Other information gotten from the dossier Boss gave me paint him as the worst possible asshole and a wild animal.
My dream man.
“Don't f**k him.”
“Sorry b***h, this one will be meeting my c**t before he departs.” I say out loud oblivious of the fact that I'm in a public place. I seem to have terrified an old Asian couple at the table across from me considering the fact that they're staring at me in horror now.
“Sorry, novel.” I blush awkwardly and the old lady gives me a knowing warm smile.
I check my watch and realise it's a quarter to 2. This means Jason will be out soon. In fact, he leaves in five minutes. I stand up from my spot on the solo table outside and make my way inside the restaurant.
The idea is to make him notice me. He's making his way out of his private dining room now, so I walk in his direction. I can't bump into him because of Jay, so I quickly think about what to do.
I look at him but he's distracted. I pull out my phone and I play a tune out loud, abruptly pausing it.
Gotcha.
He sees me now. There's a knowing look in his eyes as I smile at him and that tells me that he recognizes me. I walk past him and entreat to an empty table. I pull out my phone and pretend to work on something. As I look up, I see that he has left the restaurant. However I see the famous Jay walking towards me.
I smirk inwardly.
“Good day ma'am, I'll need you to come with me.” Jay tells me as he walks to my table.
“What for?” I play dumb.
“My boss will like an audience.”
‘You'll need a casket soon.’
“Your boss doesn't know how to approach a woman I guess.” I tease but I don't get a reaction from him.
“Okay.” I smile politely as I stand up from the seat and let him lead me to Jason.
As we get to the car, he opens the door and closes it as I get settled in.
I look at Jason and he returns my gaze. As our eyes meet, there's a tension I feel. I can't explain it, it's weird.
“I've seen you before.” Jason says as I settle in. His voice is soothing, it sends a chill down my spine.
‘What. The. Fuck.’
“Yeah me too, at the club.” I maintain my composure.
“Are you following me?” He asks and I break eye contact - it was causing my insides to burn anyway.
“Okay, I'll leave now.” I make an attempt to leave the car.
“Sit down.” He says, calmly but with firmness in his voice.
I do as he says and remove my hand from the latch.
“You intrigue me.” He says, eyes forward.
“It's the ass isn't it?” I tease and I earn a suppressed smirk. This car feels hot suddenly.
“What's your name?”
“So it is the ass.”
“Your name.” Gentle but firm, this man's voice might be my undoing.
“Kate.”
He's silent now. I look at him and I don't like what I feel inside. There's something about this man. Something intriguing I'd like to explore. He starts to look at me and I turn away quickly. This man has an effect on me which I don't recognize or like.
“Seems like you don't have anything to say to me.” I say, my eyes forward. “I was about to eat lunch, and I'm famished, can I go now?” I don't make any effort to leave the car.
“You can eat at my place.”
I can feel his gaze on me now. And it burns.
“Uhhh-” Is all I can bring myself to say.
He knocks on his window signalling the driver and Jay. They enter the car and we drive off.
Given the route, I am certain we're going to his house.
That's a good thing. Let's get this assassination over with.
