Chapter 26 Getting Closer To My Home While we were partying I let Jessica drink a little beer, but as I told her, "This isn't going to become a regular thing, so don't get your hopes up, I intend to carefully supervise this just so you know." Jessica seemed to be OK with it, but I was more worried about her taking up smoking than anything else, although I used to smoke, I didn't want her to. I also thought that when we got home, I'd get us both into running together, I had kind of gotten out of it, but I certainly could use the exercise. We stayed up a little later than I had originally intended, but tomorrow was the final stretch and it would be one long ass day. I called dad with an update, and Greg as well. I told Greg I was going to try and hit Garden City around 3:30 tomorrow afternoon, so if he wanted to ride back with me from there I'd appreciate it. We got to bed around 11:00, and got on the road by seven-ish, I continued riding US 30, this being Sunday morning there was no traffic, the early morning ride was very nice just us and the road, we even took our helmets off, opting for just our head wraps and sunglasses. I hopped back onto the interstate at Pine Bluffs Wyoming, stopping at Cheyenne for fuel, coffee, and a doughnut. We continued riding until we stopped to say hi! To an old friend, the Lincoln head rest area near Summit. After the call of nature, it was back for more hard riding. We stopped in Rawlins at the Truck stops of America for lunch eating a larger meal since we had such a light breakfast, but I was trying to go easy on the carbs too many pancakes makes me sleepy. It was Green River around 1:30 for fuel and a little leg stretching, Jessica was taking it like a real trooper, sitting back there mile after mile, that's why I always tried to reward her from time to time, she never complained, listened to my I-pod, or me or took pictures from time to time, I guess that's why I let her have a beer back at the motel. Around 2:00, we split north from I-80 at Granger Junction towards Kemmerer, stopping there around 2:15 for another "rest" stop. While I was waiting for Jessica to get out of the bathroom at a convenience store, I chatted briefly with an attractive blond girl and her boyfriend who were getting gas. She told me her best friend who lived down in Evanston was an avid Harley rider, I told her my boyfriend and I had recently ridden up to Yellowstone a few weeks ago, "Cool! My friend Krin and her boyfriend did the same thing a couple years ago, they had a blast!" We talked for a little longer, then once Jessica was back on, we were off. I briefly stopped at Sage to call Greg and let him know we were running a little late. "No problem babe, I'm up here at Garden city waitin for ya!" Around 3:00, we passed into Utah, almost home. "Well be coming up here a lot next summer Jess, plenty of camping, and swimming," as we started around Bear Lake. As we approached the Lake Lodge at Garden City, I saw a lot of bikes sitting along the road their riders sitting on them…Waiting! Oh My God! They were waiting for us, Greg waved as he pulled out coming up next to me, the rest of the group filling up right behind. Jessica and I looked in amazement, I then realized from the faces this was our H.O.G. group, Greg must have got a group together to accompany me back to Logan. Jessica snapped away with her camera, getting pictures of the bikes behind us, as well as Greg on my Sportster. I almost forgot to look as we passed where it all began, that poor drowned rat of a girl standing in the rain at the Franklin Basin road. I called over to Greg to take the group to Café Sabor in Logan, we flee back as the others pulled ahead eventually meeting at our favorite Mexican restaurant at the old train station. Greg and I gave each other a big hug and a kiss to cheering and shouting. I introduced everyone to Jessica whom I assumed Greg had told everyone about. We sat and told everyone of our ride, I promised everyone pictures courtesy of my "official" photographer Jessica for the f*******: page. Normally I would have had a margarita with my meal, but I was determined to set an example for Jessica, so stuck to Coke, She ordered one of their famous burritos, while I had tacos. We stayed almost two hours, then Greg and I said goodbye and rode over to my house. I gave dad a big hug, as he looked at Jessica, "Welcome back young Lady, welcome home."
