As tempted as I was to use the jacuzzi-style tub in Laignech's bathroom, I opted for as quick a shower as I could manage. I dressed quickly, as well - a light blue tee, unbuttoned flannel shirt, and blue jeans. The smell of bacon frying reminded my stomach how long it had been since I'd eaten anything.
Considering what I had to look forward to, I needed all the strength I could get.
I pressed my ear to the closed bedroom door, listening. I could hear voices, both male and female, but they weren't close enough to make out any words.
