I struggled to sleep and when I finally did, my dreams were haunted by Adara’s parents. I kept seeing images of them with her, almost dreaming of the memories she had told me about them. I tossed and turned and I was glad to find that Adara was still asleep when I woke up for the umpteenth time. I got up from bed and went downstairs for some water. That prickly feeling was back again at the base of my neck and I felt cold all over. I turned around slowly and they stood there watching me. “Keep her safe. She is yours now.
