After we had made up for lost time, we lay in bed together. She looked at me curiously and then she asked me that question.
“Did you…?”
“Did I what?” I played dumb. I knew she was wondering what I had done under the covers these past five months given my previous reputation.
“No, don’t tell me. I’m angry enough at myself for ever leaving you.” She curled up next to me and I turned on my side and held her to me tightly.
“Let’s leave the past exactly where it should be. I’m here and you’re here and that’s all that matters now.”
