I kissed the top of Kai’s head as James looked at me questioningly. I knew he wanted to say something but he closed his mouth and walked outside. I kissed Adara goodbye, wanting to keep her against me for longer but I knew if I did she’d worry.
“Please call me the moment it’s over and tell me he’s fine.” Adara was worried even though I pretended not to be.
