Dana finished at the shop almost two hours after closing. She’d prepped the fillings for several different candies, not just the ones she had orders for, and put them in the freezer. Now all she would need to do was dip them and she would have fresh stock for the store, or for a last-minute order if one came in.
In between batches, she had taken care of the supply order and paid bills so they could keep the doors open. Now, she was exhausted, her whole body ached but she felt good. She’d gotten a lot done today. She only wished she would be seeing Maverick tonight.
