Dana stared down at the page on the desk in front of her, adding the numbers in the same column for the fourth time in the last ten minutes. Every time she’d added it, she’d come up with a different number. And it was no mystery why. Thoughts of Maverick and the way he’d made her feel last night and again this morning, kept creeping into her head and distracting her. Compartmentalizing failed her. She’d tried several times to push her thoughts of him into a box in the corner of her mind so she could focus on what she needed to get done.
