Zadkiel

Zadkiel's POV From the heights of the celestial heavens, I stood watching the realms below, my black wings unfurled, absorbing the divine energy that surrounded me. The ethereal glow of the heavens had always felt like a prison to me, a place where I was forever overshadowed by my brother Gabriel’s virtue and strength. His grey wings symbolized purity, while my own black wings were a constant reminder of the darkness within me. But the heavens were also a place of immense power, a place where every thought and feeling resonated through the cosmic fabric. It was here, amidst the celestial expanse, that I felt it, an electric jolt of recognition, a pulse that echoed through my very being. Gabriel had found her. Our soulmate. The connection was undeniable, a bond that transcended time and space. She was the key to everything, the one who could unite our fractured spirits. But Gabriel's immediate claim on her sent a searing rage through me. I knew he would try to keep her for himself, to monopolize her love and light. That, I could not allow. “Gabriel,” I muttered, my teeth gritted and my voice a low growl. “You will not have her. She is ours.” I closed my eyes and focused on the pulse, feeling the bond grow stronger as Gabriel’s presence intertwined with Alice’s. A vision flashed before me, her striking blue eyes wide with fear and confusion, Gabriel’s protective stance over her. The sight ignited a burning jealousy within me. How dare he try to protect her from me, her rightful soulmate? The heavens trembled as my resolve hardened. I would not let Gabriel’s self-righteousness deprive me of what was rightfully mine. Alice’s soul called out to me, as much as it did to Gabriel. We were meant to share her, to be united through her. But if Gabriel refused to share, I would take her by force. “Zadkiel, do not act rashly,” a voice warned from the shadows. It was Malaki, another angel, ever the peacekeeper. “This path will lead to further destruction.” I turned to face him, my eyes blazing with determination. “Destruction is already upon us. Gabriel’s arrogance had seen to that. I will claim what is mine, what is ours, Malaki. Do not stand in my way.” Malaki sighed, his wings drooping slightly. “Your jealousy will be your undoing. But I see there is no stopping you. May the light guide your path, friend.” Ignoring his plea, I spread my wings and took flight, descending from the heavens at a speed that made the very air around me vibrate. The clouds parted violently as I tore through them, the world below coming into sharp focus. I could feel Alice’s presence growing stronger, her essence pulling me towards her like a beacon. Impact As I neared the Earth, the devastation of my previous battle with Gabriel was evident. The land was scarred, the air thick with the remnants of our celestial conflict. And there, in the heart of it all, was the mansion where Gabriel had taken her. I landed silently in the shadows, watching as Gabriel cradled Alice protectively. She was in his annoyingly strong arms, so beautiful and vulnerable, Gabriel and I were the angels, but she, my mind, couldn't even begin to put into mere words how angelic and pure, graceful and gorgeous she was. My soul ached and yearned to be the one holding her, to be her protector, her guardian and possess her entirely. Just this simple glimpse of her from the shadows completely disarmed me, and left me wondering why I had ever felt any jealousy or darkness inside of me to begin with. I'd never felt so calm and at peace in my eternal immortality as a heavenly guardian. My heart started beating for the first time. I needed her, I craved her, and now I knew damn well how much I would do to have her, and I intended to stop at nothing! I will force Gabriel to give her up, no matter the cost, she is not his to have alone. She is MINE! Peace for now! Gabriel's eyes were fixed on her, his expression tender yet fierce, as if she was the first star rising in the night sky. He sensed my presence and looked up, his gaze meeting mine with a mixture of anger and defiance. “Zadkiel,” he said, his voice a warning. “Stay back.” I stepped forward, my wings spreading wide to assert my dominance. “She is ours, Gabriel. You cannot keep her from me.” “She is not a prize to be won,” Gabriel retorted, his grip on Alice tightening. “She is our soulmate, and I will protect her from your jealousy and rage.” My heart twisted at his words, jealousy and rage indeed fueling my every move, but with her, it felt different, it felt more like longing and despair to be with her. “You speak of protection, yet you deny the bond we share with her. You are blinded by your own sense of righteousness.” Gabriel’s eyes flashed with determination. “I will not let you harm her. If you truly care for Alice, you will leave her be.” I laughed bitterly. “Leave her to you? Never. I will claim her, Gabriel, whether you like it or not.” The tension between us crackled like the air before a storm. Alice stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she looked up at Gabriel, then at me. Confusion and fear flickered across her face, and it was all I could do to suppress the urge to rush to her side. “Zadkiel, please,” Gabriel said, his tone softening. “For her sake, let us find a way to resolve this without further destruction.” I hesitated, the sincerity in Gabriel’s voice giving me pause. But the possessive fury within me refused to be quelled. “I will not be denied, Gabriel. I will have her.” With that, I vanished into the shadows, my resolve unwavering. The battle for Alice had only just begun, and I would stop at nothing to claim her as my own. Gabriel may think he can protect her, but our bond is undeniable, and I will ensure that she feels it as deeply as I do. Either he will share her with me or die trying to keep her away from me!
