KAI'S POV
I am sitting in the table with Lisa, it is obvious that she doesn't like me at all. Maybe she's jealous because I am with Jennie tonight.
"Lisa." I called her to stop the awkwardness between us.
"Kai." She said plainly and yawned.
"You and Megan, how long have you been together?" I started the topic.
"Almost a year?" she said unsurely.
"Not sure?" I mocked her.
"What do you mean?" She raises her brow and looks at me.
I smiled at her and tap my fingers on the table. "How about Jennie?" I asked her again.
"What about her?" she asked me back.
"What's between you and Jennie?" I became specific.
"We are friends now, we were more than friends before." Lisa said and sip her drinks then clench her jaw.
"What about you? What's between the two of you?" It is time for her to ask this time.
"You've been dying to ask that since earlier, right?" I teased her but she's a short-tempered woman. She slammed the table discreetly and leans closer.
"Just answer the damn question, Kai." She said furiously.
"Am I supposed to be threatened by that?" I said as I laugh. She balled her fist in annoyance. "We are close friends." I started to answer her. I saw how she was relieved. "For now." Until I added my last words.
Lisa sighs heavily and talks to me again. "You better not hurt her." She told me.
"Is that advice? Or are you talking from your experience?" I said to her.
LISA'S POV
"Just answer the damn question, Kai." I said furiously. He is allowed to ask me questions and I am not? That's not fair!
"Am I supposed to be threatened by that?" He said as he laughs. I balled my fist in annoyance. He is acting like an ass. "We are close friends." He started to answer me finally. I was relieved for a second. "For now." Until he added his last words. Is he going to court Jennie? I don't think he is a nice guy but they seem pretty close...
I sighed heavily and talked to him again. "You better not hurt her." I told him.
"Is that advice? Or are you talking from your experience?" He said to me arrogantly. This guy is getting on my nerve.
I just stared at him with my poker face and he is smiling from ear to ear he is really annoying and I'd love to punch his damn face right now.
"Jennie is a good catch, Lisa. I will not hurt her like what you did." He talks to me like he knows everything like he knows Jennie well more than I know her. I felt intimidated at that moment.
I did not mean to hurt Jennie at all.
"When I knew that she's back in Seoul, I followed her." He stated. "I wanted to protect her because the person who supposed to protect her made her fragile as fuck." He said to me.
Is he referring to me?
"I like Jennie." He admits it. Yeah I know boy, it is obvious!!!
"And I think she needs a man, Lisa. Not a woman."
Okay, that's it. He is pissing me off. I stand up and held his collar.
"You son of a b***h!" I yelled at him and at this moment I really want to kill him.
"Butthurt?" he said not caring if I can punch his face anytime.
Thank God everyone was busy and the music was loud.
"You don't have the right to talk to me like that! You know nothing!!" I yelled to his face angrily but this guy .. he was just looking at me and how dare him to smile at me like that.
"Just admit it, Lisa, you are nothing! You are a coward! And you don't deserve Jennie at any angle!" He fights back at me. I was ready to punch him in the face but then Jennie came back.
"What the hell is happening here? Let him go!" Jennie said while pushing me away from Kai.
I clenched my jaw and let go of him. He is a bastard!
"What's wrong with you, Lisa?" Jennie asked me. I can't look into her eyes. Why the f**k is she asking me that question? She should have asked his freaking date! Of course, she will defend him. What the f**k.
Instead of answering her I walk away from them. I could hear that she was calling me but I can't look back. My tears started to drip down my face. I was really angry.
Not to Kai... but to myself.
He was right. I don't deserve her. All I did was hurt her.
JENNIE'S POV
"Lisa!" "Lisa!!" I was calling Lisa but she did not bother to look back. I came back from the bathroom only to find out that Lisa is almost making Kai's face like a punching bag. She was so angry and she was about to cry... What are they been talking about?
"What happened Kai?!" I couldn't ask Lisa so I asked Kai.
"Well, your ex did not take the heat. We were just talking and she started to be angry. I did not do anything to piss her off. I did not know that she's a psycho. I was being nice to her and she started to attack me!" Kai told me while fixing his suit. "She has a great grip." He added and rolled his eyes while touching his nape.
Lisa isn't like that. I know her. But Kai doesn't have any reason to lie to me.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"I'm fine, don't worry. She's maybe emotional to see her ex with someone else that's why her anger fires to me." He said while laughing.
"Stop with the silly jokes okay?" I told him seriously and he did.
"Maybe we should go home. This night is kinda rough." I said and look for Jisoo and Chaeng but I did not see them, so I just texted them.
Kai and I are already in the parking lot of the event. I saw a familiar girl sitting in a car's hood. I recognized the car, it was Lisa's and that girl is also Lisa. She was drinking a bottle of wine alone.
"Jen, can you wait for me here? I need to pee. I'll be back real quick okay?" Kai told me and I nodded at him.
I stepped closer to the girl who looks like been drinking so much.
"Lisa." I called her.
Lisa looks at me. She was crying and her eyes were so sad. What is happening to you, Lisa?
"Hey what's wrong?" I asked her.
She wiped her tears away and sniffed.
"I'm fine don't worry about me." She said to me. It is obvious that she's lying.
"What happened?" I asked her.
"You want to drink?" Lisa said while handing me the bottle of wine she's been drinking.
I get the bottle from her hand and put it on the floor. "You are already drunk. Where is Megan?" I asked her.
"I don't know. Maybe she's having fun inside." She said to me. Then suddenly her phone rings. It was Megan who is calling.
Then I heard heels coming.
"Lisa, I've been looking for you inside." Megan said worriedly and she looks at me with the 'why are you here with Lisa' look.
"Lisa is drunk. I think you should take her home." I said to Megan.
"I know what's best for her, remember I am her girlfriend. Thanks for looking out for her though." She said and gave me a fake smile. She then let Lisa sit at the passenger seat and she drives away Lisa's car.
"What a great night." I said to myself
MEGAN'S POV
Last night was an interesting night. I met Lisa's ex. The girl she's not naming at all. One time we are making love and she accidentally moaned Jennie's name. That hurt me, I can't deny that.
Lisa was really drunk last night. I was in her room, in her bed that means I won over Jennie. She can't get my Lisa.
"Argh." I heard Lisa. She was holding her head.
"Hangover?" I said and she nodded. I smiled at her and hand her medicine and water.
"Thank you." She mumbled.
"Baby, can I ask you something?" I said to her.
"Hmmm?" she just hummed.
"You never name your ex." I told her. "Why is that?" I asked her. I know it was Jennie I just want to know something.
"Do you still like her?" I added.
I got Lisa's attention this time she faced me then holds both of my hands.
"Don't think like that, I just don't think we should talk about her. And that was a long time ago. How could you conclude that I still like her?" she said to me sincerely.
I then kissed her lips and she kisses me back.
"I love you. I'll do everything for you." I said to her.
"I love you too, Megan." She said to me and it was music to my ears.
Jennie Kim, I don't hate you. I just love Lisa so much and I would do everything to make her stay in love with me.
You've been gone for years, you can't come back just like that.
I know Lisa is still affected by you, especially last night when she saw you with Kai.
It hurts me seeing the person I love is hurting. Lisa is a good person she deserves the world and I am going to give her everything.
Whatever it may cost me.
