Chapter VIII

JENNIE'S POV

I woke up with loud voices laughing around our hotel room. I recognized two voices. One is from Jisoo and one is .. Kai.

"Good Morning Princess!" Kai greeted me showing me his face that smiling from ear to ear.

"What's good in the morning when both of you can't laugh quietly? Can't you guys see I'm still sleeping?" I hissed at them.

"Are you on your menopausal stage? You are grumpy and how can we laugh quietly?" Kai made fun of me. I threw a pillow in his face but he manages to avoid it then I threw my slipper to him then beng! Bullseye.

"Ouch! What a warm welcome!" he said and rolled his eyes on me then laugh after a few seconds.

"Crazy." I mumbled as I shake my head.

"Coffee?" Jisoo asked me

Yes please." I said.

"Kai is also coming to the event." Jisoo said to me

"Jisoo told me you don't have a date. I can escort you. Girls will be drooling to see me." Kai said confidently while flexing his muscles.

I looked at him furrowing my brows "If girls are going to drool it is not because of you, it is because of me, asshole." I said laughing at him and Jisoo also laughs with me.

"Something is burning .. oh it's you!" Jisoo yelled pointing at Kai.

"I can't with you guys. You guys really love to annoy me." Kai said shaking his head.

"How come you are going to that event?" I asked him this time with a real question.

"Well, I decided to work on our business now since my father is getting older and he needs his handsome son to take over and he said this is a good start. Aren't you guys proud of me?" he explained.

"I think we need a priest." Jisoo teased him once again.

"Aish!" He hissed and threw a piece of pancake in Jisoo's face.

They started to throw different things at each other. They are always like this.

"Alright, kids, stop." I said sternly because the kitchen is going to be a mess if I don't stop them.

But instead of stopping they exchange glances to each other and with that I knew already that they are going to target me this time.

They both threw pancakes at me and also syrup. I don't want to lose so I threw them the bread and our coffee spilled on the floor until Jisoo's mug was broken.

"Oooops." We said in unison and we all laugh. Then, later on, we all cleaned up our mess and sat on the couch.

"The event is tomorrow." I blurted out while we are watching a movie.

"Are your clothes ready?" Kai asked while still watching.

"Yeah. Everything is already fixed for tomorrow, how about you Kai?" Jisoo asked him.

"Yep. I prepared my things before going here." Kai responded.

"Jennie, Kai can escort you at the party. Rosé is my date for that night." Jisoo said to me.

"Do I have a choice? I don't want to be alone tomorrow." I said honestly. I really don't want to be alone especially in that big event.

"Looks like there is a deep meaning to your I don't want to be alone tomorrow thing," Kai mumbled.

We are all preparing for the event. Kai was in his hotel room a few rooms next to us. Yes, he also checked in to the same hotel.

Someone knocks at our room and it was Kai.

"You guys ready?" Kai asked us.

"Jennie, I'll be fetching Rosé. We'll meet you at the event is that okay?" Jisoo asked me and I nod at her.

"And you boy, take care of my friend or I'll break your neck." Jisoo said that made Kai laughs.

"Oh my God, I am scared of this big creature." Kai exaggeratedly said while gesturing as if he is really scared.

I shake my head to that scene. Jisoo finally exited the room.

"So Princess, are you ready?" Kai asked me.

"I'm always!" I said to him. He then extends his hand gesturing to put my hand to his then escorted me to exit the room.

"I'll be your prince charming tonight." He said and smiled sweetly to me.

While Kai is driving he asked me something. "Lisa was the reason you go back to Australia right?" I don't know where he knew that.

"Wh-what are you talking about?" I said trying to deny things. I did not know that he knows Lisa.

"Stop denying it, Jennie. She's coming, right? That's why you don't want to be alone tonight." He said.

He was right.

"How did you know?" I asked him.

"Well, let's just say I have a friend that knows a friend who knows a friend." He said not answering my question directly.

"It was a long time ago." I blurted out.

"But it still hurts," he said directly, I gulped to his sentence and did not respond at it all.

"You can use me." He added.

"What do you mean?" I said unsurely what he meant

"To forget her." He finished his sentence.

I wasn't sure why is he saying these things.

"Y-you don't need to do that." I said to him.

"But I want to, I want to help you." He looked at me for a second and then look back again to the road and continue driving.

LISA'S POV

Megan and I are already at the venue. I was roaming my eyes around the event hoping to see her. My hope rose when I saw Jisoo smiling from ear to ear, of course, because she's with Rosé.

"Is that Rosé?" Megan asked me while her arm clings into mine.

"Yep." I said smiling but still looking for Jennie.

"Who is that girl?" Megan asked me again.

"That's Jisoo." I said plainly.

"Rosé!" Megan called Rosé and they are now going to our table.

"Hello!" Rosé greeted us cheerfully.

"Megan, this is Jisoo, my girlfriend." She proudly introduced her girlfriend.

"Hello Jisoo, it is nice to finally meet the girl who made Rosé stop from being on blind dates every weekend," Megan said laughing and they both laugh. Jisoo is a social butterfly and she's the girl that can socialize with everyone.

"Baby, you seem like you are expecting to see someone here?" Megan realized I was looking for someone.

Rosé and Jisoo look at me at the same time.

The event is going to start in a few minutes, is she coming? Did I do something that made her don't want to go to tonight?

A few minutes before the event finally started a girl walks inside the event with a guy escorting her. She's wearing an elegant dress that compliments her body shape, she doesn't wear a heavy make up at all. Every guy inside the room was drooling at her, she then looks at our direction. She's looking at me and smiled.

Oh, I thought it was for me, but it was for Jisoo of course. Jisoo then waves her hand.

"Who is that guy?" Rosé asked the same question I wanted to ask.

"That's Kai. He is a good friend of ours." She said smiling.

"Who is that babe?" Megan asked me.

"The girl I was searching for the whole time," I said to myself

"That's Kim Jennie." I answered.

Jennie and that Kai guy sit in the chair that is facing to Megan and I.

"Hi, it is nice to meet you guys. I'm Kai." The guy introduced himself. But boy, no one is asking.

"Hello I'm Rosé" Rosé introduced herself.

"Oh! Jisoo's girlfriend! Now I know why Jisoo really loves Korea or should I say a girl named Rosé" the guy said confidently like they are already close.

"Okay, Kai that's not necessary," Jisoo said to him. Serves you right.

"I'm Megan, Lisa's girlfriend." Megan proudly introduced herself.

"Lisa has good taste in women .. in general. It is pleased to meet you." He smiled at my girlfriend. Is he trying to flirt Megan?? And what the hell he meant by his first sentence?

"And you are Lisa." He then looks at me.

I just smiled at him.

The host of the event started the event with a, of course, greetings from him.

Kai and Jennie seem really close.

I never heard anything about him. Megan leans closer to me and I smiled at her.

The guy named Kai stretched his arms and slowly put it on Jennie's shoulder. I was expecting Jennie to tap his arm but she did not.

JENNIE'S POV

The event is already in the middle we are now chilling and talking about different and random things. I felt cold at the moment and uncomfortable since Lisa keeps on eyeing me. Maybe she is wondering who is this guy sitting beside me.

This is the first time I met her girlfriend. Her girl is so clingy she keeps on flirting with Lisa in front of us and to my surprise Rosé and Jisoo are gone in our table, it is just the four of us.

"Are you cold?" Kai asked me and I nodded at him. He then takes off his coat and gave it to me.

"Awe you guys can make a cute couple." Megan said softly.

"Thank y—" Kai was cut off by Lisa

"They are not a couple." Lisa retorted.

"I thought you guys are like together?" Megan said to me.

"Ah no, but who knows right? Maybe at the right time." I said faking it.

Kai then pinches my cheek. He plays a really good job in this scene.

Lisa drinks a lot tonight. I felt really uncomfortable sitting in this table with her and her girlfriend that keeps on being clingy to her so I excused myself.

"I'll just go to the bathroom." I said.

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Kai asked me and I could feel Lisa is staring at me.

"No. I'll be quick." I said to him and gave him back his coat.

"I'll just accompany her." Megan blurted out. Wait, what???

"Is it okay?" Megan asked me.

"Of course. Why not." I smiled at her.

Megan and I are now inside the bathroom. Does she know about me and Lisa? Because that would be awkward as f**k.

Megan was retouching and I went to the cubicle. I just sat there for a while exhaling and inhaling. Thank God this bathroom doesn't smell s**t at all.

Then I flushed just to let her know I am done. I washed my hands.

"Jennie." She called me while watching me.

"Hmmm?" I hummed and smiled at her.

"I know you." She's starting to make a conversation and with that start, my heart beats faster.

"You are Lisa's ex, right?" she stated.

"Ah .. you know?" I asked her. What a dumb question, Jennie. Of course, she does. Lisa might have told her.

"Lisa did not know that I know. She never named you." She answered me. Oh, Lisa did not?

"We can be friends. But if ever you tried to steal my girl, I am telling you .. I can fight ugly." She told me sternly. Is she threatening me?

No one threatens me like that. Who the hell she thinks she was?

I dried my hands "Girl, I shouldn't be the one you are giving a warning. That should be your girlfriend." I said to her while looking at her reflection in the mirror and she crossed her hands.

I've been worst and I won't let anyone just threaten me as if I can't fight back.

"But don't worry. She's all yours now." I told her and gave her a sly smile.
