Chapter Seven

Helena awoke to the loud scream Xander had let out. She shot up, looking around. She quickly got out of bed and tried running out of the room, but she fell over from being dizzy and the pain she felt. She lifted up her shirt to find a rag laying over her stomach, and as she removed it, tears fell from her eyes. "He left more scars on me... Not only on my memory, but on my body again," she whispered. Sobs escaped her lips as she curled up in a ball, holding her stomach. She wondered how one person could hate her so much, for nothing. Her chest started to shake as more choked sobs were let out. Outside, Xander dropped back down onto his knees, his tears flowing down rapidly as he sobbed in silence. Minutes passed as he wiped his face and stood up. He composed himself as he looked around. Sighing heavily, he punched a nearby tree. "Control yourself, damn it. You killed the man that started all of this, you should be happy!" He said as he walked back into the house. He was walking back to his room when he heard her cries. He stopped mid-step and turned to her door, knocking on the door a few times. "Helena, it's me. Is everything alright?" She stared at the door, lost in thought while still crying. "Please just let me die here... Please just let me die. I don't want to be an abomination anymore," she whispered. Her sobs shook her more and she felt more tears sting her cheeks. She felt her heart sink. "I shouldn't have ran back... Now Xander is guilty of killing him. Seeing him do that... I can't believe he did that," she murmured. She coughed as her breath was taken out of her. All she wanted was to go home, but she knew she couldn't- She was thrown out of heaven. Xander opened the door and found her lying on the ground. He saw her weakened state and knelt beside her, watching her flinch the moment he put his hand on her shoulder. "You're not going to die here, Helena. You're going to live and help me rebuild our coven," he stated. He lifted her up and carried her to her bed, ignoring her as she shook her head and begged him not to help her, and setting her down gently as he sat at the foot of her bed. "I'm sorry you had to see that, Helena. It's just that man, you see, he was the man that caused me all of this pain. He put these scars on my body," he said as he took off his shirt, turning his back to her. His back was filled with scars going in all directions. She gasped, realizing how similar their scars were. "He was the reason why my little sister died the way she did," he whispered as he turned back around and stared right at her. His voice filled with sorrow at the mention of his sister. "Is he the reason for all those scars on your body as well, Helena?" He questioned. She looked away from him, shaking her head. She wasn't ready to discuss all of this. "I told you. I'm not sharing my past with you, it doesn't need to be shared. I had things under control until you got there. You shouldn't have interfered!" She shouted. Anger kept boiling inside her, making her wish she could get out of this situation. A sigh escaped her lips as she slowly swung her feet over the side of the bed, getting ready to try and stand again. "I can take care of myself, Xander," she muttered. He got up from the bed and grabbed her shoulders. He pushed her back down on the bed gently. "You're not moving at all, do you understand me? You can barely f*****g stand. So stay there," he said as he released his grip on her shoulders. "And besides I wouldn't have intervened if you hadn't f*****g left in the first place!" He yelled as he glared at her. "But thinking about it now, I'm glad I did intervene. That son of a b***h got what was coming to him. He killed my whole coven and family. All because he hated that he was one of us, a vampire," he muttered. He gently pushed her back down on the bed as she attempted to get back up. "Helena, listen to me and stay the f**k here. Your wounds need to heal before you can move again," he said as he stared at her. She glared at him, wanting so badly to smack him. Her wings spread due to her wanting to fly, and she jumped a little. As soon as she tensed up, she relaxed again. "First of all, you can be a little bit less of an asshole, if you don't mind. Second of all, I'm not helpless! I can move and I'll be okay. I had to deal with it on my back AND my stomach before I even met you, and I walked around fine. I'll live. Now let me f*****g get up," she growled. She turned and tried getting up again. His teeth finally flashed as he was getting mad now. He grabbed her again and slammed her down hard on the bed. "Listen here damnit, you're not a f*****g fallen angel anymore. You're a vampire! All those powers you had as a fallen angel are now enhanced ten fold," he yelled. He kept glaring at her until he let go of her. "But if you wish to be stubborn then so be it. Don't cry when you die for not drinking blood. Otherwise those wounds wouldn't have even hurt you," he muttered. His fangs retracted as he threw his shirt back on. He turned around and left her room, slamming her door. He left the house to go hunting for blood. He didn't stock up on humans the night before so he had to go out and hunt. "f**k YOU, XANDER!" She shouted. She looked around the room and sighed. She felt a pain in her chest at seeing him mad at her, at hearing his voice like that, seemingly disappointed. She shook her head. "Probably just the blood loss making me feel weird. I wanna go back home and see Allison," she mumbled, tears falling from her eyes again. She grabbed at her necklace again, finding comfort in it. She thought of how it felt when he slammed her down on the bed. It didn't scare her, just alarmed her. She didn't want him to let go, she wanted him to stay and talk to her. She slowly shook her head, thinking she was going insane. "No. I can't think like that. Not about him. I'm leaving as soon as possible," she muttered.
