Bloodthirsty Wings

Chapter Six

Xander woke up in the morning with a loud yawn as he stretched out his body. He got out of bed, throwing a change of clothes on as he made his way to the kitchen. He made himself breakfast, making sure to make extra for Helena. He took his plate of food to the living room, sitting on the couch. He noticed a napkin on his coffee table. He reached over and grabbed it, reading what was written. As his face was overcome with realization, he crumpled the napkin, grabbed his sword, and ran out the door.

"You fool!" He yelled.

He silently cursed Helena for doing this. Realizing anger would get him nowhere, he calmed himself and located where she was, immediately making his way there.

Helena slowly walked up to the door and knocked. She was greeted by Liam, and he smiled at her. His smile couldn't hide the mean look in his eyes.

"Helena!" He yelled. 

He embraced her in a hug.

"Where have you been?!"

"Uhm, hi Liam."

"You've been gone for so long. Please, come in! Sit down!" He said happily.

Helena sat down at the kitchen table and Liam sat across from her.

"Yes! Well, uhm... I stayed with my friend Xander."

He tensed as he heard the name, remembering it. He shrugged it off at first.

"Ah, a boy?"

"Yes, a boy. He's really-"

"You stayed... With a boy...?"

"Yes but nothing happened, I swe-"

"SILENCE!" Liam shouted.

Helena jumped back, tensing up. She got up out of the chair as Liam was taking off his belt.

"You... Little... w***e!" He screamed as he lifted his arm to hit her.

The belt came down hard on Helena's stomach repetitively. She cried out with each hit she received.

"Please... Stop!" She begged.

"No! You are paying for what you've done!" He shouted at her.

She grit her teeth as he kept hitting her. That's when he noticed them for the first time.

"YOU STAYED WITH THAT VAMPIRE BRAT?! YOU BETTER HOPE HE DID NOT FOLLOW YOU!" He shouted as the realization it was the same boy hit him.

He lashed her with the belt harder and harder as blood began to stain her shirt.

Xander ran through the woods quickly as he made his way to Helena's location. When he reached the house, he walked quickly to the door. As soon as he was about to knock on the door, he heard her cry from inside. Instincts took over as he kicked the door in.

"Helena!" He yelled. 

He used all of his strength to beat down the door. Anger fueled him as he made his way to the sound of her cry.

When he reached the kitchen he saw a man beating her with a belt. He seemed familiar but also different at the same time. The man looked up and locked eyes with Xander. He searched the man's eyes and he was brought back to all those years ago when he watched as all of those horrible things happen to his sister.

"You... But how! You were thought to be dead!" Liam exclaimed as he released the belt, stepping back a few steps.

Xander smirked, grabbing Helena out of harm’s way. He hugged her and made sure she was as okay as she could be, and made sure she would stand. 

Xander let out a loud yell as he rushed Liam, tackling him to the ground.

"You f*****g traitor!! You killed your own kind for what?! And why are you beating on someone who has never done anything to you?! You're sickening. You must live a sad life to do this!" He growled.

Liam kicked Xander off as they both stood back up, throwing punch for punch, kick for kick.

"I hated what I became. So I killed every single one of you. However it seems we missed one all those years ago, and this time I will correct that mistake!" Liam said as he grabbed Xander, putting him into a headlock.

Xander, fueled by his rage, didn't let the headlock affect him. He roughly bit down on Liam's arm, chewing all the way through it like an animal. Liam let go of Xander as fresh blood poured out of his now amputated arm. He howled in agony. Xander let the arm drop to the ground, grabbed Liam by his shoulders, and ripped his other arm clean off.

"This is for everyone you f*****g killed that night!" He yelled as he continued to rip him apart limb from limb.

Liam dropped to the ground in a pool of his own blood. Xander leapt on top of him, bashing his face in with his fists.

"This is for my little sister that you ravaged like a w***e! I won't let you do that to Helena! I hate you!" He yelled as he continued to punch his lifeless body.

Helena, completely terrified by what just happened, stepped back, shaking. Blood was seeping through her shirt and she felt as though she was going to lose consciousness. She fell to the ground and looked at Xander. Her eyes met his temporarily. Fear coursed through her veins. She realized just how easily he could kill her, and she started panicking. She wasn't ready to be killed, not by him.

"Don't touch me," She whispered.

She blacked out, her stomach bleeding from being hit so hard.

Xander stopped punching Liam's dead body. Looking at the damage he caused, he was pleased with himself.

"Laura, rest in peace, my dear little sister," He murmured.

He turned around as he heard Helena's voice. He heard her when she said not to touch her. He knelt beside her, checking her wound. He grabbed a rag that was on the kitchen table and wrapped it around her stomach. He lifted her up, taking her to her room upstairs, and opened the door, setting her down on her bed. He grabbed a book bag and filled it with all of her clothes that it could carry. Grabbing another bag, he filled it with all of her shoes. He put both of them on his back, lifted her out of her bed, and walked out of the house. He ran back to his house in the woods, walked inside, and placed her down on her bed. He set the bags down, checking on her one last time before leaving the room. He left to the backyard where his coven were buried.

"Everyone, today I have started our revenge. I killed the man who was there all those years ago. Turns out he was one of us, a vampire. Today marks the day of our vengeance," he said as he knelt beside their graves.

He sat there for a moment before getting up and stopping in front of his family's graves. He felt tears roll down his face as he let out a loud yell. A yell that let out all of his emotions, anger, hatred, and sorrow.
