Chapter 4

Lisanne's POV

Slowly I opened my eyes and realized I was in a hospital room. I remembered my water breaking back at Bryan's and I didn't know what happened after that, I couldn't remember what happened. “What's…” A painful hiss came from my lips as I tried to push myself up but I was in pain.

“Relax.” I heard Bryan's voice and he walked up to me. “You'll be fine soon. You have your twins already.” He said and I was stunned.

“Twins? I had twins?” I asked him and he nodded and I was in shock. I never knew it was twins I would be having. How was I even supposed to know, I never visited the hospital once during my pregnancy.

Tears of joy rolled down the corner of my eyes as I lay back down. I felt relieved my children were fine and I had done my best to protect them and bring them to this world finally.

I knew I didn't have what to do to raise them but I would worry about that later. “Two boys,” Bryan said again and all I did was just cry. “I know you must be worried about how you'll raise them,” Bryan said and I nodded gently but right now I was still savoring the joy.

He slowly helped me to sit up and I let out a sigh of relief. I was still feeling weak all over and I just wanted to see my kids which the nurses brought in immediately after Bryan requested them. “Thank you for your help. I appreciate you taking it up to help me even though you don't know anything about me.” I thanked him but he didn't say anything.

“My offer for you to stay is still standing if you want. I can take care of you and the kids if you want also.” He said and I looked at him with a raised brow.

“That really won't be necessary, Alpha Bryan. I don't want to be a burden to you. I can just work at your place for a while till I get a job to pay you back. I don't want you to go out of your way to help me.” I said to him and he just stared at me for a few minutes.

I could tell he was a ruthless man from all the stories I'd heard about the alpha of this pack but his acting nice to me was something I was suspicious about. Did he want something from me that he wasn't telling me? Or he had something he was hiding.

“A job uh?” He said as he stood up. “Once you're well, you'll start working in my company as my secretary. I am in need of one as soon as possible so focus on getting better and you can start work in a few weeks.” He completed and I nodded gently.

“Thank you, alpha Bryan,” I said to him as he turned to leave.

“The driver and the maid will bring you home once the doctor says you can leave. Will see you once you get back.” He said before walking out of the hospital room. A sigh escaped my lips as I looked down at the twins in the crib. They looked just like me but had Ray's hair.

I was glad they did look like me because I didn't want to have anything to do with Ryan again. If possible, I want him out of this world so I wouldn't get to see him again. I secretly feared him coming to take my children away. I wouldn't allow him to do it at all cost. No matter what happens, the way I protected them from the beginning is the way I will continue to.

I would have agreed to all of Bryan's offers but I didn't want it to seem like I was using him to get what I wanted. I don't know what he wanted from me so it's better I just thread carefully so I wouldn't get myself into an issue I won't be able to get out of in the future.

“Miss, you should be able to leave by tomorrow. You've been here for two days now and you look healthy.” The doctor said and I nodded gently as I kept on admiring the two princes I just birthed.

“I promise you. I'll do everything and anything to protect you from anyone who might try to take you away from me. You are my children and no one else's.” I said to them as I cuddled them gently. No matter what happens, I'm ready to protect them better than anyone can ever protect them.

The maid helped me with the stuff Bryan had got for the babies into the car as we were leaving the hospital. They all looked expensive and according to what the maid told me, he had gotten more stuff back in the pack house.

“You are one lucky woman, miss.” The maid said to me as she was helping me. “My alpha has never paid attention to anyone for years now and it is surprising to everyone that he is taking very good care of you.” She said with a small smile. “My alpha is a very cold and feared man. He must like you so much.”

I inwardly scoffed at her thoughts. Bryan only wanted something and sooner or later, I would know what he wanted but before then, I really should build whatever it is I can build with whatever payment I receive from the job he offered me.

As the car drove into the pack house, the large field was filled with lots of wolves who seemed to be battling each other. “No need to be alarmed, my lady. They are just having their usual morning session training.” The maid said and I nodded in understanding.

As we got out of the car, some other maids came over to help me out and I wondered why they were all acting so nice. Probably Bryan gave them all a prep talk because the way they all looked at me irritatedly the other night bothered me.

“Oh my goodness, isn't he so cute?” One of the maids said, lifting Liam, my first son in her arms. She looked genuinely happy as she took him in her hands. “Everyone is this playful when my alpha is busy, my lady. Don't let it surprise you.” The maid who was with me in the hospital explained and I nodded my head gently in understanding.

“I get it,” I said to her.

“Welcome home, my lady.” Another maid said, walking over to me with a cup of warm tea. I took it from her and smiled gently before sipping from it.

“Oh my goodness, I am having baby fever.” Another maid said as she took Leo in her arms. “What are their names, my lady?”

“Liam and Leo,” I replied and they all cooed in excitement, looking at the kids who didn't seem to mind the fuss over them.

“What are you all doing here?” A chilly voice came from behind.

“My alpha.” They all chorused with their heads bowed. He ignored them and walked straight to me, pulling me into a hug.

“You did a great job, Lisa. I've arranged everything they'll need so no need to worry about it.” He said with a small smile which surprised me.
