Chapter 2. Rea

*Third persons POV*

A year passed(Lilith got pregnant as the witch said..)

Time has passed very quickly; pregnancy was easy, without any complications. Finally, Rea is ready to come into this world.

'Please, don't, it's my baby we are talking about!' Lilith cried out while in labor.

'Lily, we can't take any more risks, I know it's our baby, but if anyone finds out, it might be not only the child but you as well.' Julian said with sorrow in his voice.

'I know, and I'm willing to risk. There must be another choice?' Lilith said with tears running down her face.

'I'm sorry, Lilith, but there isn't another choice...' Julian thought about options many times, but there isn't any other way to end at least partially happy.

They talked about Rowena, and both agreed that the witch showed them too much generosity and that there must be a price at the end of it, but they still don't know what it is she wants...

'Summon her now. It's time.' Julian said. Lily broke her bracelet.

A couple of minutes later, Rowena showed up.

'I see it's time. Julian bring me wet towels and hold her legs open at all times. It won't be long now' He did as told.

*Two hours passed*

Lilith holding her baby with sorrow in her heart, Julian sits on a chair next to bed, looking at both his girls. Knowing that after few hours, he won't even remember meeting Lilith makes him feel devastated. Oh, how much he would want it to be a whole different situation...

'Julian, would you like to hold her?' Lilith asked while raising her head to look at Julian.

He just nodded.

After he took his baby, he just stood there, lost of words, holding her as close as possible.

'Rowena, can we at least give her a name?' He asked after few more minutes.

'You can, but we shouldn't leave the full name, so think of something that would be two similar names or that would have a shortage.'

'What about Raelin? Could be Rea in wherever she's gonna be taken to?' Lilith said.

'If that's what you want, it will be written in the contract.' Rowena said.

'Contract?' Lilith and Julian repeated with eyebrows raised in question.

'Yes, I'm sorry to tell about this only now, but there must be a contract made, that's to ensure that both sides completely understand what they get.'

'We are sure of what we want, but what do you want of all of this? I remember you said that there won't be a price? Julian said.

'Well, no wonder I'm a witch' She laughed lightly.

'But, I mean no harm. It's just that there is something I need, and you have it. ' She continued. 'Okay, well, then, what do you want?' Lilith asked.

'Since I know that an angel blade can kill almost anyone, and you have it, I would like to get it... After what I'll do for you two, at some point in life you'll be together again, but, before that, you'll have to go through Hell to achieve it, and, as well they will be looking for me, and I like to be ready as soon as possible for what's to come.' Rowena said.

'Why? Why would anyone look for you? I know this whole situation is not supposed to happen, but it did, and you are just helping us out of it the best way you can.?' Julian questioned the witch.

'Actually, Julian, Lilith, it was supposed to happen, as it says in... No, I can't say anything, or I'll die as soon as words leave my mouth. I'm sorry, but I can't change fate, so please, if you two are ready, let's move on...' She said, almost begging. 'Alright, so be it, now, can we make clear what we want? 'Lilith said, gritting her teeth.

'Yes, go ahead, I'm listening. '

'We would like our baby to have a loving family, doesn't matter if they have any financial stability or no, just so our little Raelin would grow up loved, next, can you perform the ritual that would vanish our mate bond as well erase our memories?'

'I can't erase your bond. That magic is too strong and dark, but what I can do, is give you both potions which would tame the bond. As Lilith gonna be the queen of Hell and Julian alpha of the Blackwood pack, I don't see how these two worlds could connect. Unless you gonna be in the same room, you won't feel that you are mates. For memories, that's not a problem. It's just that you'll have to tell me what the last thing you want to remember doing so I could tell after it's done. '

'Can we leave her something that would remind of us when she'll find out that they aren't her real parents? 'Lilith asked. Rowena nodded.

Lilith went through her bag and found a silver necklace with a wolf on his fours and a woman sitting next to him. She held it in her hand for a little longer, and when she opened her fingers, on the back of a necklace was carved.

'Here, baby girl.' Lilith put it in a small wooden box and hid it in a cradle with which her baby is taken. As well wrote a letter to people that gonna take care of their child, explaining that they can't keep her, and thanks for taking her in, only saying that her name's Rea.

Rowena went to collect the potions.

She came back after an hour.

'If you two are ready, I gonna take her...' The witch said. Lilith kissed her baby's forehead and gave it to Rowena. She took her and vanished without a word.

Julian and Lilith just stood there, hugging each other with broken hearts...

An hour passed, and Rowena came back.

'Okay, now, before continuing, I would like to get my part of the deal...' Rowena said.

Lilith took a minute to conjure the angel blade.

'Good thing angels can have several blades.' Lily said while giving it to the witch.

'Where did you took our baby?' Julian asked out of nowhere.

'I wish I could tell, but I can't. The only thing I can assure you with is that she'll grow up loved.' Rowena continued when she saw Lily's blistering eyes.

'Now now, sweetheart, here, take a tissue. It's for the best, trust me, you'll meet her once again, I promise.'

'Now that we are good to go, let's finish. Here are your potions.'

They took the potions, and when it was time, drank them. Then, Lily went back to Avacia and Julian to his pack...

* Rea's POV*

Thirteen years passed

'Mom, Dad, this is my new friend, Lucy. We gonna be doing a project for school together,' I told them while bringing her in through the front door.

Mom came from the kitchen.

'Hello Lucy, do you want anything to drink or a snack? '

'Hello Mrs. Mclinet, I would like a drink if it's okay.' She smiled at my mom.

'Oh, child, formalities are not necessary here. Call me aunt Maya, and come for a drink.' She took some lemonade, and we went to my room to study.

'So, Rea, it's soon your birthday. Who gonna come?' Lucy asked.

'Half of the class, maybe more, I already gave out invitations, and mom got calls from other kids' parents that they will come, and what about you Lucy, is your mom coming?

'No, she is busy as always, but I'll be here. Maybe we can do a sleepover?'

'Sure!'

I'm one of those popular girls in my class, everybody is my friend. I think it's of the enormous house with a pool we have because, to be honest, I'm just an average girl, brown hair, blue eyes, average height, nothing much, but still, even if it's the house, I'm good, it's nice to have so many friends...

Fourteen years passed

'Lucy, are you coming? The party is about to begin.' I called her.

'Yes, Rea, coming, by the way, happy fourteenth birthday, girl.' She gave me a small box. I opened it...And inside, there were earrings.?

'But, Lucy, my ears are not pierced' I looked at her. She was widely smiling at me.

'But it will be.' She winked at me.

'Whaaat?!How did you do it? I've been asking my parents for it for two years!' I questioned her.

'I asked my mom to talk with yours, and it worked.' She said.

'Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lucy!' I hugged her, repeating nonstop.

'Okay, girl, let's go now. Everybody is waiting.' We went to my birthday party.

Fifteen years passed

My fifteenth birthday was yesterday, and the party is today, but I don't think anybody gonna come because of what happened today at school... When I woke up and went to the bathroom...and saw myself in the mirror I wanted to scream, I know, you think, what might have happened...

So here it is, my hair changed color overnight, they are no longer brown, they are...White!

I don't know what's going on, but I can't do anything about it now. I had no choice but to go to school like this. I tried to hide them with a cap... But when in class, a teacher told me to take it off, and once I did, everybody around was gasping. The teacher sent me straight to the principal to explain myself, since it's not allowed to dye hair in my grade, and what do you think... I had no explanation because I don't know how this happened, even my parent were called in, and again, they had no answer as well...

My classes were canceled for today, and I was taken to the family doctor. He checked me and found no problems with my health. Looks like from now on, I'll have these white hair...

Eighteen years passed

Woke up too early, still nervous for the final exams that I'll have today, after two weeks graduation ceremony, after one more week's party at Jill's that I don't wanna go to, but Lucy talked me in, as she always does...

She said that she wanted to hook up with some guy and till then she'll need company, but the moment she leaves me I'm going out of there, there's nothing interesting for me since all friends I had turned on me on my fifteenth birthday, as time passed they got used to my new look, but still, none of them ever looked at me as a friend, just some girl that attends classes with them... Then, as I began going deeper in my thoughts, I heard a knock on my door, and soon they opened, it was mom.

'Sweetheart, breakfast is on the table, though you'd wake up earlier for today.' She smiled and went back downstairs.

I let myself lay for couple more minutes, got up, went to the bathroom, showered, brushed my teeth, and went downstairs.

'Good morning mom, dad. 'I said while grabbing my plate with pancakes and a cup of coffee.

Once, I heard cars honk, stuffed everything into my mouth, hugged my parents, and left the house. Lucy is already waiting for me, I thought she wouldn't show up for twenty more minutes, but here she is. Once I sat in her car, she began driving.

'So, what's up with you today? Why so in a hurry, your classes will start only in an hour?' I asked her.

'Oh, no, I'm not attending today, I have my internship, and I'm kind of in a hurry since it starts in half an hour. ' She said.

'Why didn't you say I could have taken a bus? '

'Don't worry, it's not a problem, I always have time for my bestie. ' She winked at me.

I just laughed lightly. Seriously, I don't even know how I got so lucky to have her as a friend, I remember it like yesterday, we met at a preschool, and something just clicked. Since then, we are inseparable, I mean, yeah, she's two years older than me, but still, it was never a reason not to be 'besties' as she always says, even though we're two completely different people, it still works somehow.

'Okay, hope your exams go good, see you at four.' She said while hurrying me to go.

'Yeah, see ya.' I waved her bye.

She's always in everybody's eyes. They want to be her friends, even come to ask me for her number. I mean, as much as I think, I still don't understand how this beauty queen can be my friend. She's tall, with beautiful curves, eyes as blue as oceans, like a model, straight out of a magazine, she gets everyone's attention, she's a team spirit, and I, I'm just some quiet little mouse that no one sees anymore, they even make fun of me when they get a chance, because of my '' unusual'' hair color as they say to the teachers that comes to stop them sometimes... But in reality, they have been my bullies for three years already, and I can't wait to go the Hell out of here.

Exams went quite well, at least it looks like that for me. After that, I had to go to the classroom for a meeting about how the graduation ceremony will go.

After the meeting, I went out and sat on a bench in the school's yard to wait for Lucy.

She arrived shortly...

'Hey girl, so, how was your day?' She asked while I was getting in.

'Good, how was yours?' I looked back at her.

'Good, good, yeah, when are the results up anyway?'

'Next week, wait, what, are you trying to change the subject? Did something happen?' I question her with a raised eyebrow.

'Thought you wouldn't notice, but yeah, something did happen. The manager of the company that I'll do my internship at is a complete douchebag, he tried to hook me up the whole day without teaching anything. Then, after it's finished, he waited next to the exit and gave me his number, asking me to call him so we could go out. 'She said in one breath.

'I'm sorry, maybe you can ask for another company to do your internship at? '

'Rea, I wish it would be that easy but I can't, everything is signed and now I need to suck it up and go through, the only way out would be to completely change location, but, cmon girl I can't and I won't leave you alone' She said still nervous.

'We could... Have a girl's night and make some plans on shaming the guy?' I suggested her.

'Yeah, let's do it. I do need some time with my bestie. It's been a long time since we just chilled anyway.' Lucy said, looking calmer already.

She brought me home to change clothes, then we went to hers.

Now we are sitting on the couch, binge-watching some drama that just showed up on Netflix.

'Sooo, does he even look any good?'

'Girl, I'm not going to discuss that creep, I'm not interested in this topic and that's it.'

'Okay, Lucy, chill.'

'Any plans for your birthday?' She asked me.

'Nah, just gonna sit with my parents, maybe buy a cake, and of course, you gonna be there, there's no question in that.'

'For sure I will. I wouldn't miss my babes birthday for anything.'

'Thanks, girl, you are the best.' We just sat there and chilled for the rest of the evening, after that she brought me home, we said our goodbyes and she left...

A week passed quickly, today is the day, it's my birthday, and I don't even know how to react to people wishing me happy birthday, as every year I just thank and hope that no one will make a big deal out of it, it's just another day in a year that I like to spend with my parents and Lucy, sometimes I think that maybe I became too antisocial, but, hey, I'm happy the way it is, so why to change anything?

'Hey, you look so out today, is everything okay ?' Lucy asked while we were going to my room.

'Yeah, I'm fine. I just feel a little strange, that's it.'

'Strange? What do you mean by that?' She asked furrowing her brows.

'I mean, it feels like something is about to happen, like.. I don't know Lucy, it's just that it feels like there is something in me, something extra, that wasn't there a day ago.'

'Okay, you strange girl, let's go downstairs. Your parents are already waiting for us.' She said making a funny face.

When we went to the living room, mom came to me and engulfed me in a huge bear hug.

'Happy birthday sweetheart' She kissed my forehead, dad did the same, and we sat by the table, they sang me happy birthday song, I blew my candles, wishing for everyone to find peace and happiness, even me, I don't know what's going on with me these few days, it's just that I feel like I don't belong here, that there's something out there waiting for me.

'So, Rea, what are you planning to do next since you're finished with school ?' Dad asked.

'Well, first I'll apply to few colleges I would like to go to, and then try to find a job to make some money for my further studies.

'Rea, you know that we are here for you, and we gonna help with your scholarship? 'Mom asked. 'Yes, I know, but mom, dad, I want to be as independent as possible, as well not to use you, you two also have lives and need money as much as I do. '

'Girl, we are so proud of you. You grew up so mature.' Mom said while coming to hug me.

'Thank you, mom.' I said while trying to control my watery eyes.

'Oh, baby, no need to cry, today is your birthday. It should go without a tear.' Mom said while giving me another hug.

I heard someone clearing their throat, turned to check who it is and saw Lucy, standing with a big smile on her face, holding a small red box which is directed to me. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow in question. 'What, can't a best friend get you a gift anymore?' She said sheepishly.

'Lucy, you can. It's just that I think I said clearly that it's not necessary. Having you here is more than enough.'

'Rea, just shut up and take it.' She said giving it to me. I took the box and opened it, and when I saw what's inside I couldn't stop smiling, it was our first selfie, and beneath a silver bracelet on which is engraved -Lucy+Rea=Besties for life-

'Lucy, love you girl!' I screeched while running to hug her.

'You see, girl, even though you said it's not necessary, I took my chances, and I don't regret it.' She said laughing lightly.

'Rea, we also have a two parts gift for you.' I heard my mom say and turned to her, she continued.

'The first one is for you to help start your independent life. We put some extra money into your college funds ...' Mom said, smiling at me.

'Thank you, and, um, what's the second part?' I asked hesitantly.

'For that, Rea, you'll have to wait till we are alone, I'm sorry, Lucy, but this is really a private matter.' My dad said, looking apologetically at my friend.

'No offense taken.' She told them smiling.

We chatted for a while, eating cake with tea. After that Lucy left because she has to wake up early for her internship. I couldn't help but think of the second part. Is it bad? Is it good? And why it's such a private matter that Lucy couldn't stay and see it with me...
