“We’ll be going now,” Laurence and Roberto said their goodbyes to Jaxter, who returned the gesture with a slight nod, then was greeted by his wife. “Aren’t you staying for dinner?” Hayle asked with a faint smile. “Sorry, ma’am, but we need to leave before it gets completely dark,” Roberto said with a hint of reluctance. “Oh, very well.” Hayle couldn’t insist if Roberto and Laurence needed to leave now.
