Shirley's POV I rolled my eyes at Larry, who still had that dull look. I took off my shoe to feel the sand, hoping that when l looked at him again, he must have brightened up. The sand itself was soft and inviting, a warm and comforting surface that seemed to mold itself to the shape of my feet. Slowly, I moved closer to him and embraced him from behind.
