Closer to the Truth

SABRINA POV: I woke up in Hudson's arms. He was stroking my hair and it was absolutely the most soothing thing in my life. "Good morning, Cupcake," He whispered. I smiled at him as I lifted myself from his lap. "My apologies for collapsing on top of you." Hudson shook his head, waving away my sorries. "You were exhausted. How do you feel now?" "I'm a little better," I stretched as Hudson didn't even budge, "What time is it?" "A little after 6. You didn't really sleep too long. Rayanne is going to check on you today. " I forgot about having to work and the Quads actually going to work outside of the estate. It made me a little uneasy. "Good morning," Sebastian was standing a few feet in front of us, studying my face and then his brother's – most likely taking in the situation or sensing if anything had happened between us. My work hour began at 8 so I had some time. "Good morning, guys.." I said, smiling way too much for someone who hadn't had a lot of sleep. "Will I get lists on what I should assist you guys in?" "You can assist me all night long, baby girl," Xander said, shirtless and with low rise sweats on. What I would have done to see what was beneath those pants. His washboard abs were immaculate, but all of the Quads had incredible bodies. Gym class and watching them play sports showed me that much. "You guys must hit the gym a lot," I have no idea why I blurted that out, but my face reddened so much that I could feel the heat exuding from my skin from embarrassment. I think the guys saw it too, but I didn't get a chuckle or teasing this time. I got smiles and looks of longing. "Why didn't you have any boyfriends?" Hudson blurted out as Q punched him in the arm. I shrugged, "I just don't think guys were interested in me." Xander crossed his arms over his chest and smiled, "Well, we've seen you naked so I find that hard to believe." Sebastian rolled his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Idiots..." I laughed, "Well, you're the only guys who've ever seen me naked so...? Oh wait, professor Clark was interested. " Hudson growled, "What the f**k do you mean?" I shook my head, "He hit on me and Tina all throughout the summer at the pool." I didn't like the anger that filled the room so I broke the silence. "Well, I'd better find Maggie before you guys fire me on my first day." I walked over to Hudson and what did I do? Kissed him on the cheek. That wasn't me. I wouldn't do that, but it felt so right. "Thank you for being here for me, Hudson." AUTHOR'S—THIRD PERSON POV: "Clark? Did he know?" Quinn thought aloud when Sabrina left to find Maggie. He'd been leaning up against the back wall. "Nah, he's just a perverted warlock," Xander stretched, "But if he even glances at our mate again, I'll rip his face off." The others agreed. "I've kept an eye on him," Hudson said, "Ever since that day he was ogling Sabrina's crotch." "That was way before we knew.." Xander laughed, "Oh s**t! Did you like her, little brother?" "Shut up," Hudson said, turning off the games and gathering his lap top and headphones, "I might have, but I was..." "Looking for your mate," Seb nodded, "Me too." Xander scowled, "Who says she'll accept all of us?" Hudson glared at him, "Don't you f*****g dare." Sebastian stepped up to Xander, "Even though she doesn't have to choose all of us, you'd better not even think about taking her." Xander pushed his brother away, "She wants to f**k me anyway." Quinn snickered, "Pretty sure our little lady wants to f**k all of us. I wonder how many pups she'll want." "If she doesn't reject us," Hudson croaked. The silence that filled the room was deafening. Sabrina would laugh herself so far away from them if she could hear them talk about her like this. "She's not to leave the house while we're gone. It's safer in here," Sebastian was telling Maggie as he readied for work, "Make sure to keep her busy. She doesn't go outside unless someone is with her—you, my dad, or Clive. Cheryl has been ill and even is she shifts she won't be able to protect Sabrina." "Rayanne has been called in again?" Maggie inquired as she followed Sebastian to the kitchen, "Will Miss Sabrina be alright?" "Yes, Rayanne is keeping an eye on her, too—especially after the episodes Sabrina's been having," Seb told her. "Does she,-" Sabrina walked in, placing the last pin in her bun atop her head. She had on the regular uniform, black polo and tan khakis, plus new black sneakers. "Do I look OK?" She asked Maggie who examined her, "I didn't know if I should wear a belt or tuck my shirt in...?" Maggie just smiled and nodded at her, "You look profeesiYou ready to start the day?" "I don't serve them, do I?"Sabrina whispered, but the Quads could hear her. "Only when they need assistance," Maggie winked. SABRINA POV: I was a little nervous, but truly excited for that paycheck. I kept telling myself that they were going to put me through college and my life would turn around. Excitement and terror consumed me. "Did you get my list, Sabrina?" Maggie asked me as I pulled out my phone. "I did," I nodded, "Thank you so much. I also have a map of the house in case I get lost." Maggie laughed, "Yeah. It's a bit intimidating, but you'll get used to it." "She'd better get used to it..." Xander mumbled. "Excuse me?" I asked, "Don't start with me this..." I stopped myself. He was my employer. "No, no..." Xander stood up, taking his plate and mug to the sink, "I apologize. You'll have to file a harassment suit with our lawyer though..." He winked at me and then at Sebastian. "I've already kissed you, Cupcake," Xander said, leaning into my ear, "What else do you want me to do?" "Xander...." Quinn groaned. I licked my lips and leaned back into him, almost brushing his lips with mine. Placing my hand on his chest, that electricity zapped through me again. "You couldn't handle what I want you to do to me." Xander growled, closing his eyes like he'd lost himself, "Fuuuck..." He turned quickly and I don't know why. He didn't even look at me when he grabbed his wallet and phone and headed into the foyer, followed by his brothers. "I guess that did it for him," I giggled to myself. AUTHOR'S—THIRD PERSON POV: "f**k my life, bro, she got me turning my damn eyes before I can even think about it!" Xander tossed his bags into the trunk of his car, "I am going to go to the gym after work and punch out some of this tension." Quinn nodded, "I need a cold shower." Hudson and Sebastian agreed. "I was going to stay home today," Hudson said, "But I actually have to open the damn store." Suddenly the door flew open and they watched Sabrina rush out from the confines of the manor, holding a lunch pail. "Quinn! You forgot your lunch." She handed it to him like it was the greatest thing she could do all day. "Thanks, Cupcake," Q smiled, "I owe ya." "Hey, you have a good day, Cupcake!" Xander called as he slid into the driver's seat. "She will, won't ya?" Hudson smiled, disappearing into the backseat of the passenger's side. "No getting into trouble, Sabrina," Seb joked, "If there are any problems, call us. We'll come right home." Rayanne, David and Valerie appeared in the doorway as Maggie watched from the window. "We'll take good care of her, boys," David promised. As the Quads drove off, Sebastian texted Maggie and the others. "I forgot to tell them not to let her near the lower level." Xander nodded, "She's curious though and rightfully so. It's closing in...the truth." Quinn looked back at the house as their mate watched them drive off. "Well, let's hope Sabrina isn't THAT curious today."
